I'm sure TT is just as surprised. Used Cars is most likely one of the "10-15" titles that they expected to sell out before the end of 2014.

It seemed like many months ago a number of these titles were moving briskly and were destined to quick(er) sell-outs...then the sales/hype seemed to sputter out. If nothing else, it is a fascinating economics lesson.

it happened right about the time they started really ramping up titles per month

I know many thought As Good As It Gets would be a faster sell out. I really didn't think they would have more copies still yet.

I'm on the fence about it too. I felt like it had a lot going for it, but ultimately I didn't like the anarchy of the plot. I'm glad I saw it, it made an impression and I'd probably revisit it again. But for the price? Not so sure.

This ancient member missed "Zardoz" in its initial release, but I had friends who saw it 20 times!! I imagine those who are predicting a quick sellout are correct!! Cult film for 40 years---- it will sell. And fast.

It's not really a movie I feel the need to own on blu ray, despite liking it. Especially at $35. I bet that sentiment goes for a lot of people.

Which Sony and Fox movies were released by them directly in other countries? Seems likely they would have been released by them here as well if not for TT being the better money maker option for Sony/Fox.

That's how I feel. I used to own the DVD ages ago, got plenty of watches then but it's not really a film I need to revisit. It's not a visually stimulating film that demands the highest picture quality. It's the same reason why I rarely ever go to the movies to see a drama.

Hudson Hawk was a Mill creek release - one of the 2 movies on one 50 GB disc, so it was bare bones.
