I actually bought the ultimate hammer collection off Amazon about a week ago and have been working my way through it. It's an astounding deal if you're at all interested in old horror flicks, there are some real classics in there (Quatermass and the Pit, The Reptile, Plague of the Zombies), a few of their upper-tier but not classics (Frankenstein Created Women, Dracula Prince of Darkness, Rasputin the Mad Monk) and some of the more interesting and experimental movies that they did (Blood from the Mummy's Tomb, Demons of the Mind, Straight On Till Morning) to go along with One Million Years BC. Most of the movies look pretty darn good for DVD. One Million Years BC looks about on par with the US release, but it's uncut and contains the aforementioned short interviews. Raquel Welch is pretty funny, she's kind of dismissive about the quality but remembers it pretty clearly and seems to have some fond memories of making it. If you're a harryhausen nut and don't want the other 20 Hammer flicks for an additional 50 bucks, then you should definitely get the single version. That TCM code doesn't work for me, it says it's applying the discount but the price doesn't change on anything in my cart, and the only discount applied in the price total is "free shipping with order over 49.95." Is this one of those crummy sites where the only way to make one discount code work is to ensure you don't meet the terms of the other one? IE, do I need to drop my order down below 49.95 to get the 25% to show up? Or does it just refuse to show your applied discount until after you give them your credit card info? EDIT: Oh, last guy says "it was a mistake" and it no longer works. Well, guess I'll just have to buy them from SAE sometime instead. >:P |

Seems TCM just added a restriction or is this not happening to anyone else?
"Sorry, but coupon "25OFF" is not available for this order." It appears when i add any TT release, seems i will have to keep waiting for my first TT releases ![]() |

I didn't get that message (or at least I didn't see it). However, when checking out, it said that prices would be discounted when the checkout is completed. But that didn't happen.

Oh, this is fun. Except for the part where it isn't.
I emailed their "Customer Care". Got back this explanation: "Unfortunately we do no combine promotions and you received the automatic free shipping promotions." I sent back a reply "That makes no sense. If the free shipping is "automatic", and therefore no other sale code can be applied, then there's no point in offering the other sale promotions." I asked them to cancel the order. I had order four TT titles. Which means I basically should've gotten one free. If I had the option of getting a $34.95 discount versus getting $6.95 off for the shipping, why would I want to get the latter? I've ordered from them four times before without a problem. This is lunatic. |

he he if only "slow" was the issue. I don't mind slow. They are incompetent, unethical and seem to have some "special talent" for messing up orders.

Wow...strong words. I get how one could perceive some recent issues as incompetence, but can you explain how in your view they are unethical?

I've never had a problem with them either. But I order almost all my TT movies from SAE during the signed promo days because it works out to be cheaper than TCM's "sale" price and they don't charge me tax like TCM does.
Very odd though that they consider the $49 free shipping to be a "promo" that can't be used with movies that are on sale. That will only create confusion and anger. |

I'm sure they are fine if you buy full price (i.e. overpriced) items. They will fulfill those just fine. But if someone is looking for deals, as many people browsing these forums are looking for "deals" - or at least lowest possible price, it's another story altogether. TCM seems to have major inventory counting problems when there is any sales volume for a particular UPC. |

Hm. Was dismayed to learn that both of my current BD players are beset with the problem that they don't play TT discs due to being stuck on the menu.
I was hoping to listen to Nicholas and Alexandra's score, but it's not worth setting up an old player for! How unfortunate. I do hope they figure it out. |

well my order is obviously a mistake so maybe they'll honor it, and maybe they won't. It's not going to be the end of the world either way.... I'll update what happens for anyone that's interested... Last edited by AKORIS; 01-18-2015 at 12:17 AM. Reason: update |

My order from SAE came today. I don't usually post my hauls, but I'm impressed with the order getting to me in three days. I'm also looking forward to watching these films. First up, Leave Her to Heaven.
