Not the domestic, but it can't be far behind.
I wasn't even aware of that planned R & H box set for the U.K. What a coincidence!

But yes, that's exactly the kind of thing I was talking about.

Yes, but there are at least 1,000, and perhaps as many as 1,500 copies left - there are 491 copies in-stock, and TT surely would have made an announcement a while ago if the total were now under 500.

THIS coming Friday at 4 pm est.
btw: the Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals boxset was supposed to come out last Feb, but got pushed back. Now I think Fox is even delaying it further because they have the Marilyn box set coming out. So I wouldn't be surprised to see it fall into 2013 unfortunately.
hopefully X-Mas maybe.

On the Blu-ray, however, it is absolute perfection and one of the best Blu-ray transfers of a film of that era that I've ever seen. It is spectacular - amazing color, amazing sharpness, and the opticals have been handled extremely well and look better than opticals like that have any right to look - Universal should look at this transfer and adjust their practices accordingly. I cannot imagine people not being bowled over by this, although I'm sure the screen cap brigade will judge solely on those, but I think we all know by now how accurate they are - not.

You forgot the most important thing about that Academy screening! Ann-Margret was there and still incredibly gorgeous. (I consider myself very lucky that I was there.)

Yes, the DVD is a cut version... you have to go back to the laserdisc to get the un-cut version.

How do you know how many copies are left? Is there a way to check on the SAE website or something?

no.
there is no way to accurately tell how many copies of a title are left, and I am really tired of people trying to claim otherwise.
it's all a big waste of time imo, and the whole trying to use the SAE website to think one knows anything at all about number of copies sold or left or whatever is a bunch of bs imo.
