I agree, all I care about is that I eventually get them, besides it's not like they are leaving us in the dark, at least they told us there would be a delay.

Dude the Northeast has been getting slammed this year, tons of bad weather which has screwed up tons of businesses. Even if no machines were effected the number of days with no production Cinram probably had alone could cause a week delay. Calm down.

The last signed promo was offered on March 4, so the next one won't likely be for 3-4 weeks. In my signature is a link to my posting of the signed promos. That includes the days that the offers were made. |

Most releases tend to be pressed a month or more prior to the release date. So, is this a TT issue or a manufacturer issue? A one week weather delay shouldn't affect releases. Why is it that a release hasn't been pressed within one week of the release date? As others have suggested it would seem the manufacturer is to blame. A one week delay won't kill anyone but it's rather a matter of principle. |

I received my copy of the 2015 (4K restoration) of Journey to the Center of the Earth today. I haven't watched the entire movie, but I spun it up on my Mac and compared a few scenes to the Blu-ray.com screenshots for the 2012 Twilight Time disc. I'm pleased to report the new 4K restoration is a SUBSTANTIAL improvement over the previous release! The difference is, in humble opinion, night and day!
Noise and defects are removed and objects are more detailed (but the film doesn't appear overly-sharpened to my eye.) I still see some film grain (vs. excessive noise). For the scenes I quickly checked, you get more of the original frame with the 2015 4K restoration. The 2012 transfer is rather significantly cropped by comparison. (Again, I did not watch the entire disc, nor did I compare more than a few scenes.) The improvement is dramatic enough that I decided to borrow one screenshot from Blu-ray.com (2012 release) and I pulled one from my Blu-ray (2015 4K release). Here's that screenshot comparison: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/116007 Everyone that plans to replace their 2012 version with the new 4K restoration, please raise your hand! ![]() Mark |

I was really thrown under the bus for pointing out the excessive EE in the first release (even though most other reviewers also noted it). Glad to see that they fixed it and the new release really does look dramatically better (based on screencaps, don't have the disc yet).

And I know that's what is almost certainly causing the problem, but it's not the point. It needs to be confirmed; screencaps already get a bad enough rap without completely inaccurate ones flying around the forums. After the Fright Night compression issues, it's important that misinformation is kept to a minimum.

Edit: I raised my display's contrast and could finally see the pixelation you are seeing. I then double-checked live Blu-ray and the pixelation in the cape area is definitely due to the compression of the screenshot. The cape looks clean in the live image.
