I think this is my 30th order with them and so far they've always done right by me so I'll likely put order 31 in without thinking twice about it.
Yeah, they always do come through. I think this is my 20 something order, without a problem too. The 3 weeks after street date is a little much though, even for SAE. I can say that I long for the days when SAE had my TT titles at the door near, before or on street date. I guess we are becoming trained not to expect that, which frankly, is too bad for such a premium priced product.

I guess if Sleepless in Seattle is $20 and I get "free shipping" of it with Zardoz I might bite. Might.

Probably not.

Here is Blu-ray.com's review of the 4K JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (in case some don't see it on the movie's thread).

On edit: If it makes you feel any better, I was going to take Amazon up on their sale of the week offer on Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection for 2/3rds off. But I'll have to put that off until the next time they offer it to take better advantage of the TT sale.

Mine shipped on Friday. Last night, the tracking info said it left the Providence, RI USPS facility at 11-something PM, and that the estimated delivery was today. It stayed like that all day today, and then this evening, it said that it left that same facility at 5:30PM today. Still says I'm supposed to get it today, but somehow I don't think so.

Finally had a chance to watch all of the Bounty.

I think the transfer looks great. The 5.1 sounds very good, but as many films of this age, much of the sound is up front (besides some of the great Vangelis music). Both sound and picture are better than I expected!

Hoping to check out the commentaries soon.

If you are a fan of the movie or the Vangelis score, I would definitely recommend picking it up at some point.

The Man From Laramie = great release...top notch transfer, top notch movie.

This movie SHOULD sellout...no disrespect to the horror stuff, but come on! A blue, messed up NOTLD sells out in hours?!

The Man From Laramie is just about a perfect release .

Just to put things in perspective, of the 36 titles selected last year, only two have since sold out, and none of the other 34 are on their low-quantity list.
Make that 33 of 34. Picnic was on sale last year and is now on the low quantity list. You lose some Debbie Downer points for that oversight.

The Disappearance was a major treat. I had literally never even heard of this movie before, let alone seen it. Definitely at the top of my list in 20+ years of random blind buys. Fantastic.

Great news about the sale. I have four titles I'm interested in, so I'll see what ends up on their list.

Good to know. I haven't seen it. I usually don't like to blind-buy TTs because of of the price but I can't find a way to watch it beforehand.

Crap...somehow I did not see the news about the sale above...as if I need to spend more money on Blus . I will have to see what titles are involved but I will budget $150-$200...

There are titles that I have not purchased at $30 like Swamp Water, The Other, Mindwarp, ECT which I will "bite" at $20 or so.

Yeah, as I said in a previous post, I had been planning on grabbing the Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection from Amazon (it's one of their sale of the week items this week) on Friday, but I'm pushing that off until the next time they put it on sale so I can allocate that hundred bucks for some TT sale titles. Assuming $20 a pop like last time, I'm figuring a round ten titles.

Fortunately, I have a list of the TT titles I don't yet have in descending order of want, so I can just pick the first 10 from that list that show up in the sale list.

So they're starting the sale the same time pre-orders go up for next month?
uh, wow.
does that seem smart? maybe, maybe not.
depends on the server I guess.

Should be okay, it's not like they've got a super quick sell-out like Fright Night going up for pre-order.

Yeah if it's like last year nothing that's low-quantity or a "brisk seller" will be part of the sale. Think more something like The Fortune and not Journey to the Center of the Earth. Possible that none of the sale stuff will be titles released this year unless TT wants to get rid of some of the stuff that has zero chance of ever selling out.
