It's one of the original Sony releases that was priced at $34.95 like Pal Joey, Bite the Bullet, Picnic, etc., before the Sony titles became $29.95.

Bell, Book, and Candle is an old-school romantic comedy about a coven of witches living in Greenwich Village; one in particular, played by Kim Novak, develops an interest in her "mortal" neighbor, played by Jimmy Stewart. The comedy is handled very well, mostly light and not necessarily laugh-out-loud funny, which only adds to the undeniable charm of the film as it casts a spell on the viewer. This is a hugely enjoyable movie. The PQ is gloriously grainy and colorful, with a jazzy soundtrack. Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart are fun to watch and Jack Lemmon is trippy as the carefree musician brother of Novak's character. Lemmon steals every scene he is in, obviously relishing his role as a warlock. This is just an all around classic film with a lot of heart. It was an influence on the later 1960s classic sitcom Bewitched.

EDIT: It is still showing up on the SAE website with 48 available. If anyone is on the fence, I would not sit too long.
Also featured are the great Ernie Kovacs, Hermione Gingold and Elsa Lanchester, along with the direction of Richard Quine and cinematography by James Wong Howe. Very often, a film ends up being less than the sum of its parts (see Pal Joey), but Bell, Book and Candle takes all those ingredients and casts a magic spell, if you will. Even the costumes and set design are fantastic. BBaC is my favorite TT film and the one I would recommend first to lovers of classic Hollywood entertainment, if the film were still available.

I ordered it when Journey and such went up for pre-order and don't regret paying the $35 for it even though it went on sale shortly after, but I can understand passing on it if you didn't really want it.

ugggh, I was deciding over a list of of at least half a dozen titles and was going to order today after work. I'm so used to sales lasting till midnight EST normally ... well, no biggie, most of them were only palatable since they were around $20

Since we've moved on to wishing for upcoming releases, I wouldn't mind seeing Emperor of the North Pole. I've been on a Lee Marvin kick lately.

Edit: oh, and Cat Ballou would also be terrific.

I would like to see them do Night Terror starring Valerie Harper, Dark Secret of Harvest Home and Empty Canvas starring Bette Davis. I know they probably can't get the rights but I can dream. You can only see these great films on vhs currently.

Sure, I'll play. Ten titles each from Sony, Fox, and MGM. Some of these are unlikely to get licensed, but what the hell.

Sony:

The Bedford Incident
Fail-Safe
Gilda
Here Comes Mr. Jordan
His Girl Friday
In a Lonely Place
Murder by Death
Night/Curse of the Demon
A Raisin in the Sun
Real Genius

Fox:

The Flight of the Phoenix
House of Bamboo
The House on Telegraph Hill
King of the Khyber Rifles
The Mark of Zorro
Nightmare Alley
No Way Out
The Ox-Bow Incident
The Return of Frank James
Whirlpool

MGM:

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
The Defiant Ones
Exodus
He Walked by Night
I Want to Live
Lilies of the Field
1984
The Pride and the Passion
The Quiet American
Truly, Madly, Deeply

I have wanted Bell Book and Candle on Blu-ray for quite awhile now, just didn't want to pay $35.00 plus shipping for it. Found it on EBay about 3 1/2 weeks ago, paid $22.50 for it , including shipping, it is in mint condition. I enjoy this flick, and that was a great price to pay.

I Want To Live!.....Oscar winner and one of the most powerful movies ever to come out of the '50s but for some reason rarely mentioned these days

Cat Ballou is one of my most wanted titles, and I have asked a few times on facebook over the last few years, but I never get a reply

Ok, I managed to miss the sale (and PICNIC) and I'm extremely furious and dissapointed!!
I waited to be paid and put money in my prepaid card. I did so on April 2nd, but then my telephone and internet in my area went out of order! I was for 2 days without internet!!!
I can't believe my luck!

Man Hunt, Mr. Hobbs, Follow That Dream, Jane Eyre, Drums Along the Mohawk, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, The Dogs of War, La Bamba, The Buddy Holly Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Inherit the Wind and my long-awaited Zardoz. A good day indeed.

I've been buying TT titles for a couple years now, but this is the first time I've participated in one of their sales. It's probably been mentioned before, but about how often in a year do they run discount promotions like this? Just for their birthdays, or one or two other times for special occasions too?

I only had enough in my budget for The Mechanic (along with the Zardoz pre-order). I had my eye on Cover Girl as well, though I have a feeling that one will be able to last long enough for the next time I can get it on sale.
