JAYEMBEE:

The soundtrack to GUNN was released by Sony last year on the cd set HENRY MANCINI: THE CLASSIC SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION.
This obscure Blake Edwards movie hasn't been totally forgotten.

My guess is that TT will be releasing Sense and Sensibility as Sony has already released it overseas.

Right you are, maybe they'll end up releasing both then.

Can you tell us something about the picture quality?

Does it bother you that you had to watch the movie in French with English subtitles?

I would LOVE The Age of Innocence!!
Actually I'd like both if they could!!

Strange that Sony thinks these highly acclaimed movies (along with The Remains of the Day), don't have a large audience in USA.

Catalog dramas don't have much of market anymore. Have you checked out the releases lately? The vast majority are genre titles.

With Warner Brothers finally starting to release their Harryhausen movies is there a chance TT will look to bring The 3 Worlds of Gulliver and One Million Years, B.C to blu-ray sooner rather than later? Maybe even a re-release of Mysterious Island? It would be awesome to complete our Harryhausen movie collections on blu-ray

I cannot believe that Experiment in Terror is not sold out by now. It's an engaging crime thriller that gets off to an amazingly tense start right off the bat in the first few minutes. It stars the lovely Lee Remick and the always-amazing Glenn Ford, and it features incredible cinematography.

If you are a fan of the first Dirty Harry movie, then you will be particularly impressed with one scene in Experiment in Terror.

I don't know how the rights to those movies fit in with Twilight Time, but I'd love to see this too.

That's because they don't. The US is one of the only countries that almost exclusively only makes $200 mil blockbusters, while other countries still make dramas and period films. In other words, many other countries still have a variety of films the audiences like to watch, not just CGI junk. So those titles do indeed have bigger audiences in other markets.

3 World of Gulliver is Columbia, so it is certainly TT "eligible". Not sure who has rights to One Million Years BC.....it was a Hal Roach Studios production, a UA release.

One Million Years B.C. was a Hammer Films production, released in the US by Fox. If Fox still has the North American rights, then it, too, is "TT eligible".

I thought 20th Century Fox has the rights to One Million Years, B.C and TT had a good chance of licensing it for BD....but I could be wrong.

PQ is quite nice. There are some dirt specs at the beginning and once or twice during the film. But the for the most part it is clean and in some scenes stunning. I have no issues with subtitles. I'm not fluent but I understand some French and find it easy to follow. Subtitles are yellow and are burnt in.

Are the subtitles "blocky" looking like on DVDs?

Nah. The US' biggest exports and worldwide money-makers are the same CGI fueled blockbusters. That's just mass-market entertainment no matter where you go, and it sells more on BD because it is more likely to be watched repeatedly rather than once a decade. I lived in Europe for two years and traveled extensively beyond that and people are pretty much just people. US stereotypes are as silly as any other.

Dramas sell less because people feel less need to own them for repeat viewings. Also they are less in need of an HD upgrade for many people, right or wrong, so people are more likely to be fine with the DVD of Remains of the Day compared to say Jurassic Park.
