The new Twilight Time website seems to not offer Major Dundee for sale - it doesn't come up there on a title search, or a search for Peckinpah.

However, I was thankfully still able to order a copy from Screen Archives! So they must still have some stock on it, though it's gone out of print!

So if, like me, you want this title but have been dragging your heels, now's the time to jump on it!

I notice, in general, that the TT site offers slightly lower shipping cost than SAE, FWIW!
Just means SAE has the copies.

Nice looking site. I'll wait until the kinks are worked out to register, don't think I am buying anything until September's releases. Glad you upgraded to your own web page though!

I notice the cover design for The Best Of Everything shows the title running horizontally while previous pictures on the facebook page have it vertically. A small thing but its bugging my ocd

Just picked up Fab Baker Boys & Mississippi Burning. That $4 off coupon really helped. Thank you to whoever posted that. Hopefully next month I can pick up Mississippi Mermaid & Look Who's Coming To Dinner.

No, it's been changed to the current version.

TT, I'm assuming these are the same cases that are used for your releases?
It's a bit misleading, as the stock image they used represents a 14mm Amaray clear case found on most UK releases..

I'm assuming the actual cases they're selling are the ones TT's been using for their current releases, though.

I like the design of their new site. Hopefully they add some more content to it and do more promotions.

FYI, the new TT site is blocked by major work filters. Something about it, the firewalls don't like.

Could be that it's so new it hasn't shown up on the approved/good list just yet.

It will be interesting next time they have a surefire sell-out title and it goes live at the same time on SAE and TT. Which site will crash first, or neither now that traffic is split? How many copies will each site be selling? Will TT also limit purchases to 3 each person, but you could still buy 3 more on SAE? Maybe if this really works out for TT, they will phase out SAE entirely so they can keep all the profit themselves. This should all be very interesting and fun to watch.

That's fascinating - but not all that surprising I suppose...

From what I understand they are the same 12.5mm Viva Elite cases. It appears they may have used stock images from off the internet. Note the two pictures have different hubs and I'm pretty sure I've seen the picture of the open case elsewhere out there.

EDIT: The price of the cases have dropped since earlier today.

hmm I get an error saying some items cant be shipped to your location (Australia) but it doesnt say which ones. Even if I change the shipping address to a US one, I still get the error. Does the TT portal not ship internationally (despite having the option to select other countries)?

By any chance are you trying to order the clear cases? If so, does it give you an estimated shipping cost if you remove them from your cart.

That is odd. I just tried some of the individual movies and tried to estimate the shipping charges to Australia and received the same error message. However, the 5-pack of July releases with the free FN seems to work.

Maybe try sending an email to their service department:

Yesterday you could only purchase (1) 5-pk but they've now changed it so you can purchase anywhere between 1 and 42 cases.

I'm still going to stand by S.A.E., Their Service over the Years for Me personally has been great, any Problems (I've only had one, with problem Disc) had been fixed pronto, excellent packing and great shipping prices to Canada (I've noted cheaper than TT).

I did a bit of experimentation and also noticed that the shipping costs for SAE are cheaper to Canada, particularly when you order several titles at once. I've also always been impressed with the quality of shipping from SAE, using cardboard boxes, movies wrapped in bubble wrap and sometimes packing peanuts thrown in for good measure too. I've never had a Twilight Time movie arrive crushed, with indentations in the cover art, broken cases or anything like that. Obviously, I don't know how well the items will be shipped by Cinram, but SAE have set a high standard.

I also noticed on the Facebook page that Twilight Time indicated that the new site is mainly for new releases and that SAE is still the place to go for the older titles which is probably why some people haven't found certain titles like Major Dundee on the new site.

It sounds like that might be temporary and a part of the initial growing pains.
