One of the best transfers I've ever seen. Good film. George Peppard is a bit wooden, but, overall, it's a quality film.

Good move! You saved yourself a lot of possible regret if you had let this one slip through your fingers after strongly considering it. Oh, it's a great release too!(IMHO)

For the latest preorders? If so the titles aren't released until this Tuesday, 14 July. Once SAE receives the titles from Cinram they'll begin shipping out orders.

Just checked my order status from the Twilight Time web site and the expected release date for the new titles changed from 14 July to tomorrow, 10 July.

If you ordered any of these titles orders may start shipping out tomorrow.

I wonder if TT is planning a release Waking Life? Fellow member, Brad1963 speculated about that on FB, after TT said they have "one big motion capture project" scheduled for later this year. There aren't too many major mo-cap movies out there as far as I know. and Waking Life is with Fox, so it's definitely a possibility in my opinion. I know there were also some rumors circulating that Criterion would release it. Either way, it needs a stateside BD release.

I know that when I have ordered from Fox Connect (also shipping from Cinram) they ship early enough so it will deliver by street date. I've had shipments delivery the Saturday before.

I split my order on the July 14th titles, half from Cinram and have from SAE to see who filled the orders quicker.

At first I thought it was the Czech film from 1988 "Alice" because it was a film 4 title. It was pointed out that it was already released by another company which I did not know. Waking Life seems like a title TT would release. Maybe Criterion passed it along.

I didn't even think about the motion capture tidbit and assumed this was about a different release separate from their latest tidbit about the December release of a recent 3D Japanese sci-fi film. Harlock: Space Pirate (or Space Pirate Captain Harlock) fits that clue as well since it did use motion capture. Maybe these two clues are linked.

It does seem to fit, but wow would that be an announcement out of left field for TT

It would be some announcement. I could only imagine how fast a limited edition might sell out given the anime crowd unless TT increases the availability.

Ketchup Entertainment released this in the States for Digital HD, On Demand, and DVD but NO Blu-ray. Someone asked them a while back about a potential Blu-ray release and Ketchup stated it wasn't in their original plans. However, they did mention they were looking into a potential Blu-ray release but the earliest it could come to market would be the 4th Quarter this year.

With Arrow releasing Zardoz and Rollerball and now Sony doing Christine on their own I am very wary of getting Vampires all of a sudden.

If Sony decides to release Christine widely, does this mean they'll do the same for The Blob in the future? Personally, I'm glad I got the Twlight Time version; I doubt Sony will keep the commentary and Q&A that was on TT release, same with the Fright Night one (which I'm indifferent to; just didn't grew up with it).

As someone who owns the TT Christine, I welcome a Sony region A release. I like what I have (sucker for a nicely done booklet), and am glad to see something that shouldn't be stuck at limited to xxxx copies and Ebay hell made available to a wider audience.

Just a heads-up that our 3D title scheduled for December is a spectacular, recent sci-fi film from Japan - absolutely stunning in 3-D and 2-D!

I see, thanks.
So, i guess there's no doubt that this is the animation title.
well, no interest in that one.

A US release of Captain Harlock in 3D would be most welcome and fits the description the best.

Another film that fits the bill would be Resident Evil: Damnation 3D (only released in Japan) but this has already seen a 2D release in the states and would be more unlikely. The same goes for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society - Another Dimension.

A live action sci-fi 3D Japanese film exists in Ultraman Saga, not released at all in the states. While not sci-fi, Stand by Me Doraemon hasn't been released here either and was a large hit overseas, supposedly an English dub has been created.

Still, Harlock seems like it would have the most mass appeal and more likely to see a release here, even if Twilight Time seems like an odd choice.

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but I was actually hoping that, since Criterion is doing the "Before Trilogy" anyway, they would add "Waking Life" to the box set as well, either as a separate disc or as a special feature added to one of the other discs. It would kind of make it a "Complete Jesse & Celine Saga"-type thing. Though not very often, they have added entire films as special features in the past ("The Underneath" added to "King Of The Hill" and "Killer's Kiss" added to "The Killing"). It just seems like a cool idea to me, but again, it's probably wishful thinking on my part.
