Same here.

And while I don't consider myself a fan of the kaiju genre, I would like to see some of Ishirō Honda's science fiction films on Blu-ray, particularly The Mysterians, Battle in Outer Space, and Atragon.

Those would be great...I just dont get The Little House release. PLEASE TT why this and not Love and Honor which is the last film in Yamada's highly acclaimed Samurai trilogy? Love and Honor Blu is only available in Japan but it does not have subtitles...L&H would had made a terrific TT release , but somehow it is The Little House .

The Twilight Samurai and The Hidden Blade both have NA releases just need Love and Honor to complete the trilogy.

I posted the question on their Facebook page, plus they post here and can see my question as well.

Anyone else have an opinion please ?

" I was thinking of making my next purchase directly from your new site. Do you use a padded mailer for shipping, like SAE does ? "

" Yes we do"

My 6-BD's came in a box with no packing of any kind so they were rattling around inside, nothing was damaged though

I guess SA isn't so bad after all...
For future orders they've switched to bubble mailers for one or two titles.

It is good for use on July 29th only.

The code is SHIPPING5.

adding: THIS CODE IS FOR TWILIGHT TIME MOVIES AT THE SCREEN ARCHIVES WEBSITE. It's meant to coincide with the pre-order date for their August movies.
The only thing I'm ordering is House of Bamboo, and I doubt that is anywhere near $50 (at least, it better not be more than like $25).

Meh. Is that after or before shipping?

Also, I just realized something, is the movie supposed to be in color?

Do they not have free shipping? How much do they charge and what options do they offer?

Also, why do they show two different covers on their site? Or is that just a booklet?

The Twilight Time site only opened last month so they haven't had a free shipping offer yet. They do have boxes for coupon and gift card redemption but we haven't seen either just yet.

The first class mail option for one or two titles is $2.99 and $3.49, respectively. It then changes to priority mail for $8.99 for 3-5 titles; the price goes up from there.

SAE charges $4.35 for the first title and $0.95 for each additional title.

One is the booklet.

Just took a look at The Best Of Everything and am somewhat disappointed with the pq; that the studios feel the need to teal tint these wonderful older films makes no sense to me, this one was pretty much ruined for me

I want this movie bad, and will probably order it this week but I keep dreading the teal push that seem to be the norm for Fox classics. I wish someone would knock it off. I wish I was a brain with my tv setup on the professional calibrations Inwoild create a setting to correct the errors they make with all the teal if possible.

It's now the king of the teal Fox transfers. I'm not sure this is how it looked when originally released in 1959, but I'm not that bothered by it. I wasn't disappointed (other than the lack of a newer commentary, though the one used is fine and necessary) and thought the sound was nice too.

The problem with the Fox catalog of older color titles relates to a decision they made in 1970. The existing silver nitrate prints and negatives were all unstable and becoming fire hazards. Fox, in all its far-sighted wisdom, decided that their catalog was never going to have any value beyond the TV rerun market, so they transferred all their films to safety stock and destroyed all the original elements. Naturally, they did not bother to restore the films before they preserved them.

That's why the color timing is way off on current transfers of Fox classics like Jesse James, Belle Starr, Heaven Can Wait, The King and I, The Best of Everything, etc., etc., ad infintum. It's especially sickening to film buffs because Fox really had the best color cinematography of any studio in the Golden Era of Hollywood, especially when it came to "candybox Technicolor." They dominated the Oscars in the color categories, and deservedly so.

and yet other old films of theirs like Violent Saturday, Niagara, Leave Her To Heaven, April Love, etc look positively brilliant transferred to blu-ray. I'm no expert but it seems like they're picking and choosing which movies get the blue tint treatment for no apparent reason and which ones are done properly. I will definitely be reading the reviews on House Of Bamboo before I order it, as much as I want it

What's an A+, shipping in an iron safe stuffed with feather pillows?

I get $50 a week worth of movies from Amazon, shipped in bubble-mailers or small boxes with air-pillows, and have had precisely one significantly damaged item in about 5 years of ordering, plus a few bent slip corners on rare occasion, which I don't consider significant.

Not sure what you guys' deliver men are doing to your shipments.
