Hmm, I wonder what those could be ...

What are the most popular sell outs? Fright Night...again? They know it sells.

Christine is coming out. The Blob? Enemy Mine?

I would guess it's the early titles which haven't been released by another label yet.

They mentioned requests by the studio, so maybe more mainstream titles like As Good As It Gets or Steel Magnolias.

More re-issues eh? Well, I would buy the Sinbad movies and Enemy Mine. Wonder what the chances for those are. Doubt any studio is pushing for those.

Can't be The Blob or Fright Night since both were released within the last year.

The Fox rep on another forum mentioned FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX was licensed by someone - hopefully it'll be released this year. I don't really care by whom, just hope it's from a new restoration. This film should be spectacular in HD

CINE74:

FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX possibly on Blu-ray sounds good.
Did the Fox rep mention any other movies?

Twilight Time did mention on FB that this November's Fatherland completes the agreement they have in place with Channel Four Films (Film 4).

Just got an email from Screen Archives. Get 5.00 bucks off on a 50.00 minimum purchase on August 26th only. Use thanks5 during checkout. Not sure if this applies to everybody or folks who have been using their site on a regular basis.

I'll have to look for the posts (the conversation took place earlier this year on another forum) but he did mention a few others

I got the same email. Isn't the 26th the day of the latest preorders?

Yes.

And I got the email as well. I believe it's sent out to anyone on SAE's mailing list.

Yes. August 26th is pre-order day.

I'm in for At Close Range, 10 to Midnight, and Emperor of the North, so the coupon that I received in my email will come in handy.

I'd encourage you to take a chance on Fat City as well.

After seeing this amazing trailer a few weeks ago I'm totally getting it as a blind buy.

Also picking up 10 TO MIDNIGHT. I'm still on the fence with THE BEST OF EVERYTHING (from the last rounds of releases). Not sure I'd watch it over and over again.

1970s movies were so bleak that I don't see how so many people made it through that decade without committing suicide.

Fortunately, that decade was also the last decade for true risk-taking with cinematic storytelling, and I'm catching that vibe in the above trailer.

Fat City does not strike me as a "neo-noir" like many claim that it is, but it looks to be a good flick just the same.

FAT CITY is unquestionably one of the greatest movies from the decade - it is, however, surprisingly considerably less well-known than others. Sony's new 4k restoration is stunning, and the studio premiered it last week at "The Reel Thing" in LA - projecting the new DCP to a packed house. FAT CITY is additionally scheduled to have a week-long run at the Film Forum in NY during the next couple of months - ripe for rediscovery, it will be a revelation for those who have never seen it, and for those that have, perhaps only once many years ago, it will be a shock to find out once again how great it truly is.

I think filmgoers were more intelligent back then. They knew how to watch a film, absorb what they were watching and would process it afterwards. People would let films challenge them. Now if a film is too bleak or slow moving it will be dismissed as boring or bad.
