I love the simplicity of SAE's site and will continue to use them. Sure, their site is old-fashioned, but it's super easy to navigate and not loaded up with pop-ups and other useless nonsense. Old-fashioned is good sometimes. Outside of their crashes on super-busy order days, I have never once had a problem with them. They package perfectly in bubble-wrap and in a properly-sized box every time (I always buy more than one Blu at a time, though). Any e-mails get answered swiftly as well. Great service.
That said, I haven't even checked out TT's site to compare, and their service may be great as well (and from what I've read, they can ship earlier because of Cinram), but getting things immediately is not a big deal for me so as long as I'm happy with SAE, I'm staying put. ![]() |

TT only lists titles that are still available in the Cinram warehouse. This means that SAE must currently have any remaining stock available for those titles. The search function on the TT site works find for me.

I doubt that they'll ever reissue Night of the Living Dead after all the crap they had to put up with over the original release. Even if they got a new, correct master out of Sony, I'm guessing that people who bought the original release would hound TT about replacing those copies with the new release.

I thought about that but being it's a 5,000 run and a later Carpenter picture I'm gonna take a chance that it will last, in Canada to buy one title at a time costs $51; I'll likely cave though if a low quantity alert happens sooner

anyone know the answer? Is TT saying that the Mysterious Island re-release is a newer transfer than the original release? I wouldn't think it is. |

I thought, for the most part, the first scan for Mysterious Island was awesome. If they've got an even better scan.....wow, I'm definitely in. Does anyone know what scan Sony used for First Men in the Moon? Now that scan is amazing.

This is a film I have wanted for some time and was not aware of TT as it doesn't show up on Amazon. I've since looked at OOP titles and was surprised this one hasn't sold out.
This film and Sleepless in Seattle are the only 2 TT titles I own or 0.1% of my collection. |

Just posted on TT's Facebook:
"JC's VAMPIRES are quickly returning to their coffins -- after 48 hours in the daylight approximately half their number are gone -- don't hesitate if this is a title on your to-get-list - stake one out for yourself today!" |

Out of the ~170 titles that TT has released on Blu-ray, only 30 are OOP. Most of the ones that have gone OOP (see the link in my sig) are horror/cult/SF titles. The ones that aren't have generally taken a couple of years to sell out.

I shouldn't be surprised that Vampires is selling fast but it amazes me that, IMHO, meh movies have such a cult following. I would think most JC fans would put Vampires in the lower half of his movies....yet the 4K scan of Journey to the Center of the Earth is not only an amazing movie but an amazing visual feast but it still has copies available
