I was able to get the promo. I didn't do any pre-order titles however.

I bought some sale titles, will more than likely go back and place a new order for more sale titles next week.

I did also order Scorpio and Shadows and Fog because I am dying to see both of those titles.

None of these were in my wish-list as 'must buys', but at the much lower price point (except for The Mechanic - all of the other sale titles were ones I already owned/have no interest in, but I needed one more to get the signed promo), I decided to indulge:

Stormy Weather
Emperor of the North
Hombre
Birdman of Alcatraz
St. Valentine's Day Massacre
The Mechanic

I'd like to avoid this scenario from occurring, so there's something appealing about ordering Twilight Time titles directly from their own website, especially for another high profile release like The Mysterious Island.
Has anyone experienced problems ordering through Twilight Time's website?
Nope. No problems. Very similar to dealing with Screen Archives in terms of communication. Shipping feels a little faster from them, but don't expect a big difference.

Either way, you can order with confidence.

Ok, so the autographed copy of The Fantasticks was no longer available but for $20?

Screen Archives...
The Story Of Adele H
The Remains of the Day
St Valentine's Massacre
The Believers
Under Fire

Twilight Time...
Mysterious Island
The Detective
Kings Go Forth

I'm beginning to hate days like today, I awoke with a budget and it went down in flames moments later....

Nice sale!

I picked up:

Born Free
1984
Young Lions
House of Bamboo
A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy

There were many other titles on sale that I already own. Highly recommend Breaking Away, Remains of the Day, A Man for All Seasons, Zardoz, First Men on the Moon, and many others.

Just picked up Mysterious Island. I wanted to get Born Free for the isolated score but couldn't pull the trigger. If I knew about the sale I'd have picked up Summer Lovers, too but oh, well.....something tells me neither one will sell out very soon. Hope everyone got what they wanted.

Well, the sale lasts until December 13th, so there's still plenty of time. I have a feeling I'll be making another order before it's over.

Screen Archives Entertainment
I just tried to place another large order with SAE via PayPal Credit (to take advantage of the 6 months no interest option), and they tried to draft my bank account instead. I ended up being on the phone with PayPal for over 45 minutes, and the SAE representative above is mistaken ... PayPal Credit is no longer a payment option with Screen Archives Entertainment.

I'm cancelling this order as well. Lesson learned.

I guess I could cancel my order and re-order but I think I'll wait for the next sale. I'm surprised that First Men and Zardoz are part of it. Maybe they think their sales have hit the wall.

Well, Zardoz came from Arrow too, so many people could buy that release too.

Got Mysteious Island and 1984, both blind-buys based on my tastes and reading up on the movies. It's easy to blind-buy TT titles since they hold their value so well, you can easily sell them later. Hope I love the films.

I just posted this over in the film noir thread:

I think it's a great film. The on-location Tokyo filming adds a unique element, the story is enjoyable, the acting is solid, the PQ/AQ is top-notch, and the supplements are plentiful. I say go for it.

It's very good - part detective story, part conspiracy thriller, part look at the breakdown of the central character's marriage against a background of general corruption. It's got a strong cast, was surprisingly frank - no pun intended - for its day (it revolves around a gay murder and the hero is instrumental in
[Show spoiler]railroading an innocent man to the chair
, and the novel it's based on spawned a sequel that got filmed a decade later as Die Hard. Joseph Biroc's cinematography has a good use of rich colours and deep blacks that should hopefully look great on Blu-ray.
