Dude no matter how much you spend for a movie its not going to increase the shipping time, unless you select priority mail, and even then because of the holidays. You are simply not entitled to any special treatment just because you pay a premium price. No one gets entitlements for being a customer. You get a movie you want and that's it. I hope Santa delivers some patience under your tree

Whatever the situation is, everyone knows Christmas time is especially busy. Granted they screw up deliveries - Ive had parcels mailed in other peoples mailboxes twice in the last month. Im kind of glad I dont order a whole lot this time of year. And if there is a mistake, every label has customer service, so if it gets lost, you can easily get another .. life is nice that way

Loosely related to all this late shipping talk ...

I sent a package to a friend over 2 weeks ago, with the goal of getting it to him by his birthday on December 12th. As of today, it still hasn't reached him. My hope is that the delay is due to the holiday season, and that the package didn't get lost somewhere ... especially since it contains 5 blu-ray movies (plus other goodies).

FWIW, the package I mentioned is going from WI to MA.

So when does this contest start? Are the first eligible orders the January ones? Or is it beginning with this month (December), where the winner will get all the January releases?

I think the contest is a great idea BUT.... by law they cannot require a purchase for entry. There has to be a way to enter without purchase. There's lots of websites explaining this bit of contest law, such as
this one.
Sorry to rain on the parade.

I'd presume it started with the December titles and I'd guess it's just not limited to ordering the new releases but any order from the site.

Oh, thanks for pooping on our parade.

Thumbs up

For those interested but on the fence for From The Terrace, you can stream it on Amazon. I give it thumbs up. It reminded me of The Best of Everything in some aspects. Paul Newman is great as always I enjoyed this romantic drama. 2.5 hours went by pretty quick. Easily something Ill be getting when it's up for pre-order !

Sorry to rain on the parade.
There will be a link on our website for other entries. Unfortunately we forgot to include it in the flyer when sending it in for printing.

I had a package sit in L.A. for over a week, arrived just a few days ago. It's busy shipping season, it takes a while. Maybe the log jam will subside this week, maybe not.

Of course, my order is still just Pending, so at this point, I'll be surprised if it even arrives this year.

If you shipped it usps, there's a tracking number on the receipt that you can use to see where it's stuck. You kept the receipt, right?

Good idea. (Now all I have to do is find the receipt).

*****

EDIT: FWIW, the package finally arrived ... approximately 15 days after the original ship date. Hallelujah!

My order for 1984 and Mysterious Island just shipped today. Sad considering I placed the order on 11/25. SAE will get an angry email from me.

Consider yourself lucky; I ordered the five movies that were to be released on 12/8 and Broken Lance and Sense and Sensibility on 11/20 and my order still says "Pending!" Looks like my order won't arrive by Christmas and I'm one of their best customers since I own 142 of their releases.

Is this something new for you though? I've long since learned to stop holding my breath waiting for their orders to get here with any kind of expediency. I also long ago realized that it's the pre-orders that hold things up so I normally don't order those anymore, but I had really wanted the Detective to be here so I could watch it in December in honor of Frank Sinatra. At least you live in the United States and once it gets shipped it gets there relatively quick. When they ship my order, I'll still have to wait another two to three weeks for it to wind its way to my mailbox.

I've been ordering directly from TT, I received my order last week...

That is the latest they've been since they started accepting orders directly...

Emailed SAE yesterday and they said my 1984 + sale order will ship tomorrow or Wednesday. Good thing none of these were gifts.

Same issue with SAE. I checked the order date (11/21) and the release date (12/8) and was surprised that it had taken so long.

Mysterious Island was delayed and SAE got it later than TT. I can understand the disappointment but I don't know what you guys think anger is going to change. If you want your discs earlier order from TT, they always get them first. Also understand that a small indie outfit isn't the same as Best Buy with their guaranteed release dates.

Got my tracking number today!

THE BOUNTY (1984) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
THE TWILIGHT SAMURAI (2002) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
THE BRIDE WORE BLACK (1968) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (1961 / THE ENCORE EDITION)
THE YOUNG LIONS (1958) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
MISSISSIPPI MERMAID (1969) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
THE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS (1967) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING (1965) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
THE OTHER (1972)
HOMBRE (1967) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
HOUSE OF BAMBOO (1955) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)
EMPEROR OF THE NORTH (1973) (SPECIAL PROMOTION!)

I look at it this way...the sale plus the manufacturing delay caused them to be backed up but with this order alone, I just saved $100 on what I would've normally spent had there not been a sale. To save that kind of money on titles, I can wait. I don't even know if they'll get here for Christmas (I'd imagine given the heavy USPS traffic and the fact it's going out today, I'm betting on "day after Christmas"), but so be it.
