I look at it this way...the sale plus the manufacturing delay caused them to be backed up but with this order alone, I just saved $100 on what I would've normally spent had there not been a sale. To save that kind of money on titles, I can wait. I don't even know if they'll get here for Christmas (I'd imagine given the heavy USPS traffic and the fact it's going out today, I'm betting on "day after Christmas"), but so be it.

Very nice haul....congrats! I'd love to see a low quantity update soon. Seems like we should be getting really low on a few titles.

Thanks! I would think they'd post a low quantity update pretty soon, no? After SAE ran out of copies of "A Man For All Seasons" during the sale and had to have TT send them more, I'm pretty sure that would be on the list. I'm curious how many copies of "The Dogs Of War" are available; I see that on TT's site it's listed as "Going Fast". I also think some of the other titles they had on sale that were in SAE top sellers list throughout the course of the sale would be running somewhat low too, like "House Of Bamboo", "10 to Midnight" and "Emperor Of The North".

Guess we'll see soon enough, huh?

Got my order for Joysticks, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and Mississippi Mermaid today. Very happy.

Also got my shipping notice for Mysterious Island and Born Free. No hurry here, good things are worth waiting for. I've waited for 3 years for the reissue of Mysterious Island, another week is certainly cool with me.

Speaking of Born Free does anyone have a first impression? I'm thinking the isolated score will be awesome.

I'm told that this Sony Grover Crisp restoration was not easy - I have no idea why, but the result is splendid. It looks great.

How does when you placed your order, given these were preorders, have any bearing on how long it took for them to ship your order? It's not like they've been sitting on copies for a month. The titles were only received mid to late last week.

Yeah this HDGoofnut, his comments about shipping are ridiculous and atrocious.

For those that need to know whats up for the trillionth time - THERE WAS A DELAY WITH MYSTERIOUS ISLAND AND THEY ARE STARTING TO SHIP.
Some people blaming TT and SAE for the slow shipping..
How about taking it up with the actual carriers - USPS

Mine is still in Memphis, TN - Will I get it, YES of course, anyone that has had it shipped with tracking - you can be assured that you will get it

Actually, they are not. SAE has been known to ship out orders by most recently received instead of orders that have been in place the longest. There were people that ordered 1984 and Mysterious Island that got them over a week ago that did not order them until the last couple weeks. I ordered mine a month ago. That is NOT a good business practice. It doesn't matter what you are shipping out.

It is not wrong to expect proper service for a premium product especially when I pay a shipping charge on top of that premium price.

Mine's apparently still in Memphis, too. I imagine that after the Apocalypse, archaeologists who unearth the Memphis Post Office are going to scratch their heads wondering why there's a room full of copies of Nineteen Eighty-Four and Mysterious Island on Blu-ray.

OMG proper service, are you serious lol ? You get it when you get it - Youre not entitled. I cant imagine how youd be if a Criterion title was delayed. There is no rhyme or reason - and also maybe those people live closer to Memphis, TN.
Theyre just movies, you will get them ! Ive never seen someone bellyache so much (in recent memory) - stop this -> . please act like an adult

I could be wrong but I don't recall seeing anyone claim they received MI any earlier than end of last week. I ordered directly from TT the day the preorder went up and it was shipped on 16 Dec. Usually, TT orders ship earlier than SAE orders since the TT orders ship direct from the manufacturer.

1984 was available earlier but I'd imagine that title was being held up by MI since there was a small delay with that title.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. None of what you're saying makes any logical sense when you are paying premium pricing.

You can't blame the shipping carrier until after the merchant provides them with a parcel for delivery.

It's getting to where a man can't speak his mind on here without being bullied and insulted. Someone wants to vent about SAE let 'em!

But its pointless and fruitless. Create a SAE whiners thread if you guys feel strongly about it. Who wants to read pages of drivel about someone not getting his parcel when he thinks he should get it, premium price or otherwise.
Well, Im speaking my mind too.. I feel like venting about pages of whining over entitlement preferential treatment over blu ray deliveries .. its really an insult to all of us collectors who have patience

Of course. The merchant needs to actual have the parcel to ship and this again goes back to the delays with Mysterious Island. This premium price thing is out there, whether you spend 1.00 or 100.00 if the item isnt in stock then it cant be shipped. And when it is shipped , everyone by now should know there are delays. Honestly who really wants to read HDGoofnuts pages of whines about shipping. He needs his own blog or create a thread.
Most of us want to know about upcoming announcements and news for pre-orders , thanks

Your premium pricing case is really silly. If you cant handle delays you shouldnt be ordering online to begin with. Please open your own ecommerce website and show us how its done SMH

Is it my imagination or are 1984 and Mysterious Island in a nicer, more solid case than their previous clear releases? They feel more sturdy to me, less flimsy. Could be in my head. Either way they arrived today and look very nice.

Over a week ago? Where? TT didn't ship Mysterious Island until Wednesday or Thursday and SAE orders always ship later. You're making stuff up to be mad about.

I sent them a polite note last night and early this morning mine got "shipped". I placed it on 11/20. 1984 and Kings Go Forth were the two pre-ordered items.

Will see how long it takes for "shipped" to turn into "delivered". But thanks SAE.
