I picked this up in an Amazon deal, so it's my first UHD disc, as I wanted the remastered Blu-ray and this will future proof it. I asked in the international section but nobody has replied yet, does anyone who has the UK version know if the digital copy is in 4K or just HD? Thanks.

I love how the 4k blu ray look, it's vibrant and 'natural', we need more westerns on uhd

I just bought the 4K Apes movies, but I couldn't find them anywhere in the store. I finally got a sales critter to find them on an end-cap. So sometimes you have to search. Watched 'em both, then went to the theater yesterday to watch WftPotA. That's going to look very nice when it comes out on 4K.

Unforgiven, however, needs to come down in price. It's still ~$30.

Signed, cheap-skate.

Speck, not that it helps, but Warners has set the msrp at $45 for this, Pacific Rim and other catalog titles. That's why the street price is crazy high on their back catalog. Compared to Sony with some catalog at $27 or 25 msrp and lower street prices.

Warner is the first studio to raise prices as the formats get more niche. They won't be the last.

Praying we don't ever get back to laserdisc pricing.

MSRP on Star Wars 4 - 6 in CAV & the Lucas book was $250.
EDIT : ps, Han shoots first...

I think I peaked at $120 (in early '90's money!) for the T2 Special Edition box.

I think it was $26 or $27 when I bought it last month. plus the digital code is in demand, so you can sell it to recoup some of the cost

How is Vudu's Dolby Vision UHD file in comparison to the UHD disc for this?

Well then, I guess I know how I will be using my BB $5 reward.

The digital code was selling for at least $8, so in essence it was only ~$22 for some people.

Can anybody tell me whether the language/subtitle options are the same on both the 4K and the included Blu-ray disc? I'm particularly interested in whether this Blu-ray has Portuguese subtitles, as the old Blu-ray did not.

Thanks!

Apparently the Unforgiven UHD HDR disk does include Portuguese subtitles. That's what the Blu-ray.com review of the disk says and I have found them to be uniformly accurate.

Thank you for the confirmation on the 4K disc, but I would still like to know about the Blu-ray disk that comes along with the 4K disc. (I haven't started the move to 4K yet!) If you could check the regular Blu-ray, I would appreciate it.

Now that we have 4K discs coming with Blu-ray discs that are sometimes different than the previous Blu-ray releases, it would be helpful if the database for 4K discs contained language/subtitle specs for both formats (at least when there are differences).

I bought the UHD HDR version of Unforgiven from the Kaleidescape store and downloaded it to my Kscape Strato. Unlike the shiny disk available from Amazon, my UHD HDR copy had only English subtitles. The Blu-ray quality version of the film available from Kscape offers English, French, and Spanish subtitles but not Portuguese. Have no idea whether the shiny disk version of the BD has Portuguese subtitles.

The screenshots accompanying the review look to have virtually zero grain.

Is it the same in motion?

Those screenshots are from the included Blu-ray, not the UHD.

No issues with the UHD BD in motion.

To my memory it's not a super grainy movie, for whatever reason, and what's there is finely resolved. No DNR issues, in any case.
