I thought it was a good action flick. The 3D worked really well.

The other day I said this was the greatest film ever. Well to some extent it could be great if you watch it as mindless action and don't even consider the other films in the series. But honestly, I think it is the worst RE film. The second movie is terrible for it's bad editing and lighting but Afterlife is bad because it throws any common sense or progression that the first three films had out the window. The whole superhero Matrix fantasy Paul Anderson shot really takes the movie too far in one direction.

This was a good film but with some very major flaws. From the opening sequence to the final shots, there are some bad decisions made by the director and writers on how to continue the story.

I like the way the films play into the games with the characters we know but having coins coming out of the bad guys was a huge distraction.

I enjoyed the movie. I don't think it was my favorite in the series but definitely better than the second one for me. I personally didn't like the 3D. There wasn't much in the way of 3D effects and wearing those silly glasses gave me a headache. Worth seeing for any fan of the series for sure.

Definitely have to agree with you. I didn't like that part particularly much either.

its been a week and i still have flashback images of this movie. i think it was sick, even though, i couldn't really say what it was about or what happened. the 3d and the audio just blew me away. it made my heart beat faster! yes im disappointed in a few things.
[Show spoiler] A bit 2 much slow-mo. yes, it was a matrix rip-off. anti-climactic ending. i wanted a real monster in the end battle (even Degeneration had a better monster). what the hell. if the bad guy turned into some mutant in the end, and an epic battle ensued, then yes; this movie would have been a 6 out of 5. the destruction of Umbrella was obviously the best action scene. An action movie must end bigger than it started.
anyway, i feel like this movie will force me to get a 3d TV. sad but true.

I liked it as a huge fan of the games. But I wouldn't recommend everyone that is a fan of the games to go see it Lol. I did like the actors that played Wesker and Chris. They did their parts really well in fact when I think about it. there is some cheesy dialogue and acting but it's kinda suppose to be I mean it's a video game adaptation people Haha.

I did like the executioner from RE5 even though I'm not a huge fan of RE5. I thought they did him justice.

The fight between Wesker, Chris and Claire was alright kinda lame in some parts but it was ok for what is was. The 3D sucked I'm not gonna lie. I don't think I'm gonna see another 3D movie ever again and this was my first 3D movie ever.

Thumbs up

Saw this last weekend in 3D, thought it was good. Few problems I had were I didn't like the Prison Break dude they got to play Chris Redfield & I didn't like that basketball/watch model dudes
[Show spoiler]obvious fake death and pointless "I'M ALIVE" scene
. Also as others have said the end was anti-climatic. However like I said I still very much enjoyed it & am pumped to see the next one with the return of JV and all.

Will be picking this up on BD for sure. I'm concerned though how well this'll translate to 2D for me as one of the elements that made this so good was the fantastic 3D (can't believe I said that as normally I hate 3D, but I guess is the first "real 3D" movie I've seen vs the crappy post converted junk). Can't wait till Toshiba & Sony and everyone else come out with those announced 3D TV's that you don't need glasses for. This movie convinced me that 3D has a big place in the upcoming future, just as long it's shot in 3D and not post converted.

saw the 3D the other night

It was very impressive

the story was pretty good, but the acting/story was quite odd at times
[Show spoiler]like when they first encounter the huge guy with the butchers hammer/axe... their reaction was acted VERY Poorly... and wth was he?

little things here and there like the ending with the escape chopper/plane.. at first the whole room was filled with them... and at the end there's only weskers...

I'm glad how he just fixed/got rid of the whole clone and super power thing though

this and that yada yada brought the enjoyment down a couple notches but all in all it was good and Mila just seems to get hotter and hotter!

3/5

Watched it in 3D over the weekend and was surprised by how much I liked it. I didn't understand the coins though.

Didnt she put rolls of quarters into her shotguns somehow so they would do way more damage to things she shot and didnt she say that the quarters were a hobby of hers . Thats what i think anyway.

I saw it Saturday night in Imax 3D. I wasn't stoked about having to watch in 3D but I had no choice. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked though. Or maybe I should say with how much it wasn't a distraction instead. Either way I enjoyed the movie, but I was disappointed that
[Show spoiler]Jill Valentine's part was so small.
I've been a fan of every movie in the series and I'm looking forward to picking this up on blu, as well as seeing the next installment in the franchise.

She was reloading shotgun shells with quarters. I don't know that there was any particular reason in the movie except that maybe the quarters were easier to come by than standard shot. She did say they were a hobby. Of course a quarter is way too big to fit down the barrel of a 12 gauge shotgun (or a 10 gauge shotgun), but it wouldn't have looked as cool on the screen if she had used dimes I guess.

I guess this movie is doing pretty well overall with what 148 million worldwide in just 2 weeks . I think i has made more than any of the others already , hopefully more movies will be filmed in 3d and not converted . This is more evidence that good 3d filmed movies will do better than crap 3d converted movies .

I hadn't been into the Resident Evil movies, as I figured they were as bad as any game film. When I saw that Afterlife would be in true Jim Cameron style 3d, I watched the first 3. I'm glad I did, if only for the fact that it got me in the theater last night for Afterlife.

Of the films, I thought the first one was decent but not great. The second one was weak sauce, and the third was pretty decent, better than the first. I don't know if it was the theatrical experience, the 3d, or something else, but the new film is my favorite by a pretty good stretch. I'd certainly come back to the theater for another 3D Resident Evil ride.

RE 1; Loved it. It starts off the franchise and has great stuff in it.

RE 2; My fav. How can you not like a WWF Zombi with a gatlin gun??

RE 3; Loved it. The power Alice gets as she advances is fun.

RE 4; Could have been better but was still good. I really wish less time looking for the 'safe haven' and more time with those superbly made up Zombie's outside the fence.

Overall I rate RE series as one of the best series of BluRay's available.

I think Underworld and Lord of the Rings are a step above anything else but, RE is a heavyweight in it's own right.
