It was released the 10th of September. Normally it takes 3 1/2 to 6 months for a movie to be released for the home market. It is possible that it comes out before Christmas, but I'm guessing it will more likely be in January.

I'd love a December release date but my guess is January.

I was a tad surprised to see
[Show spoiler]all the Alice powers removed (clones all dead, original stripped)

[Show spoiler]the beginnings of using 'psychos' like the executioner and not just brain-dead zombies
.

When the time comes, I'll be interested to see
[Show spoiler]Jill and find out who's pulling her strings. Perhaps Wesker ain't so dead, or maybe Spencer or Marcus is involved. Or even Dr. Ashford.

In and of themselves, I like Apocalypse best, followed by RE1, Afterlife, then Extinction. Although, since the release of Extinction, I've had a problem, not with any film itself, but with the series as a whole. It felt like bad form when
[Show spoiler]at the top the 3rd movie they said 'oh by the by, that tactical nuke wasn't good enough to stop the virus, nor was the vaccine, so now the whole world's been destroyed save a handful of ppl.
I thought out loud,
[Show spoiler]"Really? Res Evil has always been about survival, escape, and preventing a worse spread of zombies. Cities and facilities have fallen to the virus but never the whole planet. Post apocalypse film can be done, but it seemed to me like turning Resident Evil into a worldwide post apocalypse leaves very little for the characters to live for. And it begs the ?: if all thats left of the earth are zombies and deserts, why does Wesker still want to kill/experiment on human survivors, and what cause do the remaining Umbrella employees have to stay loyal to him. It's not like money's good for anything anymore.
[Show spoiler]Wesker is not dead, you can see him jump out of the plan before it explodes, and the shot with the basketballer running out of the sewer that follows you can bvriefly see a paratute. Wesker will be back, and he will be the one pulling the strongs, just like in the fifth game.

The film is planned for an early january release and a 3d edition will be available

Speaking of the film, who thought the intro scene is one of the best scenes so far this year. (raises hand) Also was it just me, but in extinction doesn't alice say five years ago the virus escaped, and in this film it was only four years ago?

Wow what a turd of a movie. My wife loves the RE movies but told me to turn it off 45 mins in. Its just absurd. so many plot holes and inconsistencies to deal with.

Clearly Milla is just taking a check at this point.

I blind-bought it last month and thought it was smashing. Gave it a 4/5. It has its problems, sure, but it's worth it seeing Milla kick some more butt!

I agree with you, Al. This is my second favorite entry in the series, ranking second only to the first movie.

I have enjoyed this movies and hope they continue to crank them out. Afterlife was probably my second favorite in the series behind Exctintion.

Was listening to the old soundtrack to this film. Cool stuff. Reminds me of Tron Legacy's soundtrack in some ways.
