Yeah, those may be the biggest divide I can think of between films which were shot together. I think there is a real case to be made that Part One is the worst Potter film and Part Two is the best.

Part 2 is a better action movie.

Part 1 is much darker and has aged very well for me. I think Part 2 has more replay value, but Part 1 can definitely stand on it's own weight.

3.5/5. Like vast majority of other MCU films, it's entertaining on surface level, but leaves almost no impression overall. Not counting contrivances, forced drama and superficial character development, we saw all that stuff already featuring all those characters and more than once. It's time to move on.

it made more sense and had a better story. Plus little or no action doesnt equate boredom.
the 'part two' was supposed to be the fight but so much didnt make sense - had to read the book again to fully get it.

as I've often said, IM3 as a character story is fantastic. But as an Iron Man or Comic book movie, its a bit weak.

We have a large selection of multiple theaters supporting MoviePass. 2D screenings here are between $6 to $20 US or Ł4.36 to Ł14.51 UK a ticket. Since new suscribers get four tickets a month, that's at least $24 in tickets for $10 a month. But that's assuming you are seeing it in the matinee and at a low cost chain. I am under the old MoviePass plan so I actually have a movie a day, one screening per movie plan. So I could see around 10 to 20 movies a month which is fantastic.

People who live in areas where theaters are on the high side of pricing benefit the most from the new limited plan. It also makes it easier to check out different films even with just four movies. You can pay out of pocket for the ones you really want to see then use MoviePass for movies you are on the fence about.

-

As for Infinity War, Yoplait US has a deal where you buy their yogurt and get $12 to see the movie. I have a "bargain" Regal near me that sells RPX 3D tickets for $14. So I'd pay $2 out of pocket for this experience. I've read reviews of the 3D being good so would it be worth it? I already saw it in 2D...
course its better than nothing, it just reminded me how much of a better deal I feel am getting as no movies are excluded and I only pay uplifts IF I choose too and then its a few quid. I mean a single IMAX ticket is over Ł16 so a quid more an thats a month worth of movies paid for. I mean, the midnight showing for IW i saw a few days ago was Ł6 (or if I didnt go IMAX it was free) - didnt matter it was brand new. Also watched it again last night at peak time, onthe first Friday of release...again, due to no limitations.

I just think its a bit lame that you guys have all these limitations - are you locked into an initial contract or can you have a month of moviepass then opt out the next month, deciding which months you want it or not?
As my unlimited thing does have an initial 12 month contract (but after that your free and the food/drink discounts increase from 10% to 25%) so if you end up not going the cinema for a few weeks during that year, you still have to pay for it.

We do have a sort of similar, upfront payment thing that odeon offer now and then, where you can buy a voucher for Ł20 for 4 or 6 tickets, but only valid for off peak showings (so not fri/sat showings). Thats a randomly re-occuring offer though and only really worth it if you know there are a few good movies coming out in order to use all tickets.

Am guessing you guys have many more cinema chains where as we have maybe 4 main ones here (cineworld, odeon, vue and showcase) then the odd one off screen ie Birminghams sofa based Everyman or london's BFI IMAX (still the UK's largest screen I think).
Still,am surprised none ofyour theatre chains have their own unlimited style scheme. It locks me into ONLY using that chain, wherever I am in the country and because am not really paying ticket costs I find I buy more food an drink more ofnte(which is where they make most of their money anyway, so wins all round, especially with the member discount on top)

Guess am just shocked as I figured cineworld robbed this idea from the states, and applied it here(think they have close ties with US chain AMZ or AMC is it?)

no way, best was Nos 6 or 5(though shortened a LOT).
The worst were the first 3 - dull, cheesey, still-clearly-finding-their-feet-obviously-kids-movies
cant stand them. I have to start the series at 4 or 5 as they were that bad.
You can tell the UK did the CG cos its atrocious.

course - part two was always going to be the battle for hogwarts at the end of the 7th book

as far as story goes, 1 was ALWAYS better

they dont explain the ghostly 'kings cross station afterlife' bit or why harry had the choice to return.
if I recall correctly they dont even hint at the mothers sacrifice bonding to harry as a horcrux, thus her love being his ultimate magical form or protection against voldemort (explains why harry kept getting away and why is wand fought back on the broom escape at the start of book 7)
they also skipped over a few deaths - we just see a couple of bodies near the end, the fights were cut out, with other deaths completely omitted.

Am sure there are more but I've not watched them in years(or read book 7 in longer)

My mom's the bigger fan and had seen all prior movies too many times but she couldn't follow the mythology or magical logic of the part 2

Viewers may not love Thanos in the end, but everyone will ultimately understand him.
I agree. Even under the CG overlay, Brolin's performance was excellent. His Thanos came across as much more than the typical MCU villain. As twisted as his villainy was, he had a number of very "human" moments.

The popcorn container and cup I got at my Infinity War screening (plus the 2018 CD remaster of Garage Days Re-Revisited I found at Walmart).

I felt this film delivered everything I expected, and then some! Thanos had a powerful presence in the film that was undeniable, which was important IMO to feel dread, consequence and tragedy from this epic war. I cannot wait to see Part 2 of this movie...

Iron Man - Absolutely you must. Honestly, if you haven’t seen this one yet, what are you even doing here?
Iron Man 2 - I’d say yes since it does set Tony and SHIELD and some other stuff up. Important if not critical.
Thor - Yes. Thor, Loki, his relationships et al are all important for what is to come.
The Incredible Hulk - I’d have to say no, unless you need an explanation for Thunderbolt Ross and a reminder that Avengers are coming. Pass.
Captain America: The First Avenger - Yes. You’d be shocked what stuff introduced here pays off later. Besides, it’s Cap, one of our prime movers.
Avengers - Yes. This pays off stuff from Iron Man, Thor and Cap, plus introduces for the first time the stakes. Absolute must.
Iron Man 3 - Pass. Aside from Tony’s mindset and justifications, there is not a must watch reason here. Pass.
Thor: The Dark World - I’d say yes, since we have the cosmic stuff enhanced, the Aether is important and it moves Thor and Loki along.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Absolutely. Pays off Cap stuff and SHIELD and intros a lot of characters for later. Plus, it’s one of the best of any of the Marvels.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Yes. Another great movie, more characters to widen the scope, expand on Thanos. Important to watch
Avengers: Age of Ultron - Yes. Vision’s introduction and Scarlet Witch are important for later, plus the scale is reinforced for later. Important.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - I’m actually leaning no here. Aside from character building for the team and the introduction of Mantis, I just don’t view this as critical. Maybe pass.
Ant-Man - You could probably pass on this one too. It does tie in with stuff later, but is not critical. Maybe pass.
Captain America: Civil War - Must watch. Pay off a metric ton from two Iron Man and two Cap movies, plus Avengers. Plus, there’s this Black Panther guy in the movie, he might be important later. Another wall crawler too. Important.
Black Panther - I’d say yes, as Wakanda and it’s tech is important, plus the movie is awesome.
Doctor Strange - Yes. It’s not as critical, but introducing the character, his powers and his motivations are important.
Spider-Man: Homecoming - In the big picture, it is not critical, but it’s fun and the relationship between Spider-Man and Iron Man is important. Maybe watch.
Thor: Ragnarok - This leads directly into Infinity War, so yes, if just to set the board and go over the Thor and Loki relationship again and set the new standards for Thor.

So, out of 19, only four can be skipped with no damage to the core story. My soul weeps if you have seen none, but the journey is all the sweeter if you do.
I would say Guardians 2 is important in the sense that this movie spoils crucial plot points of that movie in Peter's dialogue.

I would say Black Panther can be skipped as there isn't a lot story wise that is crucial to what happens in IW. Most of what you need to know about Black Panther and Wakanda is introduced in Civil War. BP just expands on that, particularly in the tech, and technically IW would spoil you as to how BP concludes, but if you didn't see BP you wouldn't know it's a (minor) spoiler. Otherwise I think BP is mostly a filler story in the MCU. Decent movie, but nothing crucial for IW imo.

Yeah towards the end, that was the only point I noticed something off about the visuals. And that's not a CGI issue, that's a compositing issue. Possibly bad lighting on set when they filmed it, and not enough time to grade it properly to match the final footage. Or maybe it was quick comped early and they forgot about it with so much stuff going on lol.
