They will wait, cause others will wait. Why? Because FU! Their Marvel! They can smack people in the face and they will say may I please have some more, sir?

Thanos isn't even a god, so I don't know why he has to sound like one?

Maybe people are confuzzled? Eternals are pretty close to gods though.

Odin tells Thor that we are not gods in Dark World.
Frigga stabbed and died.

Eternals are not immortal and can also be killed.

Thanos in all his previous animated incarnations has never been voice acted like hes has some goofy last century echo chamber effect to his sound.

Dormmamu is the only entity in the MCU that has that "big voice".

Eternals are actually genetically engineered humans. Thanos is a bit different though, because he is a mutant (with the Deviant-gene). That's why Thoans is more powerful and looks different than most humans/eternals.

I didn't actually know he was a mutant. COOL!

I always find that the idea that a character that plays a villain has to be "Flawed" and relatable in order to be great is quite wrong. TDK Joker is probably the GREATEST example of a through and through villain without a real "flaw" that we even see. He just has his "Sad stories" that change and you're probably hearing lies whilst hw wreaks havoc.

Bane whilst not as good a follow up was also compelling to a degree because he just had presence and Scarecrow was shown as just being an unhinged looney hiding behind a "Professional" facade that cracked.

Contrasted to Marvel, they largely failed on the villain side because they didn't seem properly fleshed out and compelling. Red Skull goes a bit too OTT when he could have been a lot more intimidating rather than a bit of a caricature. Obadiah Stane is actually one of the strongest examples of a well rounded villain Marvel did in a single movie that was very well written.

Iron Man 2 failed with Whiplash because they probably cut a fair bit whilst trying to balance out all the elements of what they had to set up with Sam Rockwell, Avengers etc.

Loki has had 3 outings by now as a "Frenemy" in 2 of them (To be 3 during Ragnarok) and one as a more traditional "Villain".

Thanos NEEDS to pay off for them. The Vulture Imo is arguably one of the better villains in the MCU lately.

Alexander Pierce and Zemo already proved you don't need backstory screentime for a convincing antagonist.

Baron Zemo is as unmemorable as it gets when it comes to villains.

I actually had to think for a moment who the first person was and that's not a good sign. Zemo was actually very woeful in being a convincing antagonist. Heck, the kids mom who confronts Tony was a more convincing "Villain" if you consider her being the whole reason Tony goes all pro registration.

Zemo could have been used a lot better given the history of the character and his skills. They instead gimped the character arguably worse than The Mandarin who they gave themselves an "Out" with to re-present with "All Hail The King" short.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 even had a weak villain in the form of Ronan and it was actually Nebula who chewed the scenery so much more than him and made an impactful second appearance in Vol 2.

Obadiah Stane is probably the best MCU villain that's been done in a single movie. I would actually argue Emil Blonsky from The Incredible Hulk is one of the better ones too but it goes all too CGI for the finale which is what holds his back whereas Jeff Bridges got to still play front and centre even in the Iron Monger armour for the finale.

He succeeded where the others failed, despite not being some cartoon villain.
Thats more important than being impressive.

Don't remember? Then again, Thanos does end up murdering his very own mother later on. Too bad Marvel is too afraid to go this dark in the MCU.

I never said that he was a god. However, when confronting his enemies, don't you think that he would want to appear as such in order to disuade them from resisting him? THAT was my implication.

You're right. A cool villain voice can make a huge difference.

See, I used to think "Marvel doesn't really do dark" but go watch Dr Strange and that opening scene where they have a guy strung up by his feet and arms, then do show him getting decapitated as a shadow and having his head plonk into a bowl. Tell me that isn't dark?

There's actually a lot of moments in the MCU that have very dark moments but they usually tend to get lost in the brighter "Humour" that the MCU movies project in overall tone.

So I don't think it's so much Marvel won't do those things, it's more of a case they don't do them that often and they get 'lost' in the overall movie. Or perhaps it's their way to hide those moments better and keep a 12 rating.

Well, being dark isn't really all about the visuals exactly. For example, The Empire Strikes Back was dark because the villains won that round. Or, something like in Logan where the violence is suppose to represent how a character like Wolverine doesn't really belong in this corporate world. The MCU has "dark" elements, sure, but they add no substance.

Winter Soldier killing the Starks has no substance?

I was going to say that the Captain America movies are debatable. Meh. Most superheroes are parent-less, so yeah.

Only as much as a viewer bothers to apply to it. They were already dead for 3 movies and some probably felt a brainwashed Bucky being responsible wasn't that impactful given the story they'd told about him and how we was used.

If Bucky and Tony were best buddies like him and Steve, that would have had a real substance.
