If everything goes right and the way it should, we will get to see everyone that has been in the films and Netflix shows up to IW in part 1 and or part 2.

I can't see the Netflix shows being involved; too mature for the 12A audience.

The shows might be mature, but the characters, even a small role, can be toned down enough to appear in these. You have to see, this is a galaxy threatening event, with all hands on deck when it comes to the heroes. Be they from Hell's Kitchen, or Los Angeles, or the far reaches of the Galaxy, they'll be there. I just don't see a scenario where the big four from Netflix don't make some sort of an appearance, big or small, in one of these films.

The Russos have already said crossing over TV with the movies is complicated and probably won't happen. It shouldn't happen either, the movies should stand alone.

You guys love your connected continuities, I get it, but having a solid movie franchise is more important.

I want them to keep the films and the shows as separate as possible, that goes for DC as well. Films and TV shows are completely different forms of entertainment, the less they mix, the better.

I agree, a solid movie franchise is important. But I don't see a scene that has those characters in it takes away from it. At all. I want a good movie, I want one that feels like the culmination of events in the MCU to date, as the Russo Bros. have said it is, and acts as a grand finale of sorts. So, to me, if you're going to treat it that way, I'd like to at least have the characters make an appearance of some kind. To me, if this is the end of what this chapter that Marvel has been building up to, not having them seems like a missed opportunity to me.

I honestly don't believe for a second those characters won't have cameos. It could be as simple as a montage of heroes from different places around the world fighting against Thanos and whatever CGI army he's sure to have, with shots of the defenders fighting among other heroes.

It'll happen. There's no reason it can't or won't. If they don't, they might as well announce that it's a completely different franchise.

Exactly. I'm not saying they have to have large roles, but not having them would be a missed opportunity in this "everything's connected" franchise. It's the largest event of the entire MCU, and I think all hands should be on deck, montage or small scene, to have their time to shine during Infinity War.

I think those four from the Netflix series will definitely get their big screen debuts in these. It would be a missed opportunity otherwise.
I would love to see, in the climax when Thanos' forces are invading Earth, a montage-esque scene similar to the Order 66 scene in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Show the Avengers fighting, then cut to the Defenders protecting Hell's Kitchen; then cut to the Agents of SHIELD team fighting somewhere else; then cut to the Inhumans to set-up that film, etc. That way it shows that the Avengers aren't the only ones fighting, and may have even helped inspire others throughout the world to fight to. It wouldn't need introductions, but helps act as a reference to the greater universe that has been established.

You don't see how leaning on television shows a small portion of the audience watched harms the movies? You don't see how the movies not standing on their own as a series harms them overall and their legacy? You don't see how someone who watches the movies but not the shows might be turned off by Coulson popping in, without much story or explanation given the time limits, and tossing off some joke? "Watch our terrible Agents show on ABC for the full story kids!"

Of course it harms the movies.

I know in comics it is super normal to have tons of tie-ins and cross-overs you might (or might not) have read, but these are films. It's different. Shit, man, I don't even like that I have to know who Iron Man is to watch Cap 3.

No offence but having 15-rated superheroes in a 12-rated film would be like the Italian Mafia of The Godfather popping up in Teletubbies. I think if we get any movie/TV crossover it will be Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD appearing in Infinity War, especially when AoS has Quake (a more 12 year old-friendly superhero).

Because that's exactly what they'll do right? Whose even talking about could on anyways? No one cares about shield. They care about Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Coulson and the American eagle models can all bugger off.

I don't think it's fair to say nobody cares about Agents of SHIELD considering the number of fans tweeting Channel 4 to ask when it would return before it was moved to E4.

That's got to be the daftest, most exaggerated comparison I've ever read.

Of course I'm not speaking literally. There are fans of the show. They exist. I'm just saying, you're just not thinking hard enough if you can't imagine a scenario where these characters can show up in Avengers.

And please, stop bringing up the British ratings board. That has no impact on what marvel decides to do with its characters. Especially since the Marvel Netflix shows are hardly all that dark. They have very minor language, no real nudity, and violence that can easily be watered down. Especially since it's all but guaranteed that they won't be fighting other people, but rather a CGI alien or robot army anyways.

It does actually, considering they are both aimed at different audiences and the last thing they want is parents of 12 year olds complaining Marvel has got their kid/s watching 15-rated shows on Netflix.

While I would love to see both groups appear in Avengers: Infinity War, it's funny you say that nobody cares about SHIELD yet they do care about Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Going off the recent reveal of Jessica Jones' ratings, each episode averaged around 4.5 million throughout the first month of the show's release. Agents of SHIELD usually averages around 4 million or so per episode live. Take it account it's usually large jumps with DVR playback factored in, and people that watch it through Netflix, and Agents of SHIELD has a good deal more viewers than Jessica Jones.

As cool as it would be for the Netflix Marvel characters to appear in some fashion in the Infinity War films, I won't lose sleep over it if they don't. It would be more of a bonus rather than something I need to happen.

oh no. A 12 year old watched something for a fifteen year old! However will that child handle the three year difference!

If a 12 year old has complete access to their parents Netflix account, they can already watch things far darker and disturbing than the marvel shows. In fact, they've probably already watched them.

Exactly.

Then you have the silliness of people thinking mixing characters from the Marvel Studios film with the somewhat darker Netflix characters wouldn't work. Simply fix, you just don't add the bloody violence from the Netflix shows and problem solved. Other than that, there's nothing wrong with the character's personalities compared to the film ones.
