They had a ton to accomplish with juggling so many characters, but they didn't have to rush to introduce any of their origins and story lines since they had previously busted their butts for 18 or so movies to get us to this point. That's why this movie worked where movies like X-Men 3: The Last Stand utterly failed. This was pure action and humor and chaos from characters we've already known so well. I really enjoyed the payoff for all the time I've been investing in the MCU. Well, the first half of the payoff anyway.

I thought with all they had to accomplish, they struck just the right "balance" (pun intended).

Went to an IMAX showing at 7 last night and was blown away. People cheered and clapped throughout the movie at various points and and reveals. After that first scene, there was a stunned silence. The woman two seats down from me was in tears throughout.

I can’t believe the movie is as good as it is. It’s really an amazing feat how well it was handled. CGI was awesome. I left the theater happy, sad, and frankly pissed that we couldn’t get this kind of amazingly epic story with the X-Men...

2.5 out of 5, too much expectation to have seen each individual character's previous films to understand what was going on between characters, Wakanda was boring, and Black Panther continues to be the weakest Marvel character to date. "I Feel Pretty" was more entertaining. I liked how many of the audience members cried out in terror when the film ended, LOL! A lot of kids are going to have nightmares after seeing this, and millennials are going to be locking themselves up in their safe spaces to cry.

Default spoiler free review

here are two of my friends giving their spoiler free review of the movie. I know and hang out with these guys at NYCC and they live near me and I trust them as real world people and fans of comic book movies from both the DCEU and the MCU.

again, I have watched the video and it's spoiler free, but, I will put it in spoiler tags just the same.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. For the first time ever, a Marvel film left me shocked, awed, and speechless. Brolin is fantastic as Thanos, and I was happy to see him dominate the film in more ways than one. His presence commanded attention, and he is BY FAR and away the greatest Marvel villain ever portrayed on screen. The handling of multiple characters across various locales was masterfully done. Nothing seemed rushed. There was so much love and emotion poured into this and just as much pouring out of it.

I'm seeing this again on Sunday morning with a whole new group of people that will be their first time. I'm looking forward to this experience again. I'm pretty damn sure this will make my top 5 of the MCU.

Right now I want to put this just below TWS and Avengers in my book. I need to digest and rewatch. I'm amazed what they did with Infinity War in terms of the characters and I'm not trying to bash other movies, but there's a difference between being attached to like almost 20 characters, instead of say 4 characters and 8 others that are meant for fodder. I can understand how some people who only watched a handful could be lost though but I felt like I was awarded for watching 19 movies.

We all know who the true fans are. I just completed a 4 week refresh of all 18 movies leading up to this with friends. Infinity War is so rewarding. Yet a HUGE punch in the gut.
