Spider-Man in Civil War was better than all three of Raimi's movies. A funny Spider-Man is better than a whiney baby Spider-Baby.

Witty yes, but not overly snarky.

I think this is a better example of how funny Spider-Man should be...

Spidey 3 is a mess in general, that can't be used as a standard for the whole trilogy.

But yeah my theater also laughed quite a bit at that part

Heaven forbid a guy get emotional and upset when the love of his life breaks up with him as he asks her to marry him. You comic dudes are weird.

same...BUT, if we get a longer movie, say 2.5-3 hrs, for Infinity Wars, we could get the epic we've been yearning for since the announcement.

However, I for one, hate 2 parters.
I love that we get a double length movie but why cant it just be released as one? LOTR's managed to pull of epic lengths (dont some of the EE's clock almost 4 hours?)
If a movie needs to be longer than 2hrs (which is kinda the standard now; 90mins-120min run length) then it bloody well should be - an extended cut of AoU would have given it time to breathe, expand and be the great Avengers movie it should have been.

But its sadly all about number of showtimes per day, and its sad

I like Spiderman 3 but the last act left a bad taste in my mouth w the maskless Venom.
Its funny that folks were screwfaced about the dancing Peter (rightfully so) yet gives a pass to the dancing StarLord.

Real life doesn't get more soap opera than those minutes, although the whole "asking the dad for permission" thing comes close.

I dunno, he's pretty threatening and VERY interesting mentally/pscologically, to me, in the Thanos Rising series for example (I'll admit, I've not really read any Marvel that pre-dates mid-early 90's)

So my guess is, the Infinity War story will spread over two parts. And I think they want to keep the title under wraps until Infinity War is over. The new title could be a "New Avengers" title to conclude the Infinity War story, referring to a new team of Avengers to transition into Phase 4.
I wouldn't be surprised if its a knock on effect split.

Like how the events of AoU directly influenced and had a urge impact on how Civil war came to be/played out - the Stark/Iron Man stuff mainly.
Yet they are still completely separate movies, and from different franchises(kinda - one being Avengers, the other being Captain America), an yet one leads directly into the others much closer than any of the other MCU movies we've seen thus far,

I expect the next two Avengers movies to play out that same way - a key element of Avengers 3 will lead into/effect Avengers 4, in the same way.

The last act falls apart with the butler and when Spidey lets Sandman go because "omg he's a sweetheart after all." The finale is actually a lot of fun leading up to that, I remember the theater going crazy during the whole thing. Best part of the movie for me is still the construction site scene, but it's too brief.

I agree.

But they dropped the ball hard w Venom who at the time still had major fan heat.
