Most around here tend to trust the "knowledgeable forum poster consensus" more than professional reviews. Though sometimes that consensus can be a little too picky, so it depends. Honestly there's no substitute for just watching it yourself, though obviously I know not everyone wants to buy everything.

I think reviews here have gotten much better since UHD launched, but I'll still take a forum consensus over them 9 times out of 10.

Yeah, well, it's ok to trust your own eyes, I mostly do, but that's AFTER you pull the trigger. But what about BEFORE? If that's what makes you want to pull the trigger in the first place.

Those professional reviewers do get those disc earlier than the rest of us (usually), and they do that for a reason.

I wouldn't say "spot on," as there's too much blue in some of the blacks (which is an unfortunate trend in modern digital grading), but otherwise they look nice.

It would also be nice to see screenshots from the 4k remastered bluray's where the madvr hdr-sdr conversion isn't making everything appear over dark. Agree, some of the shots, especially in Rambo III look a bit tealified or over yellowish. Hopefully its just the madvr conversion again. The youtube trailer's colour and brightness look alot better even though III still looks tealified.
