I simply like the EE better, no mystery, no need to lose sleep over it....I will buy the EE when they come out. In the mean time enjoy your Blu-ray

Same here. If Peter never wanted us to have the EE, he never would have released it. Until it comes out on Blu, I'm fine sticking with my DVDs. I'll just go to confession the next day and beg for God's forgiveness.

Because I'm not sure if the extended editions will ever be released in the near future.
I refused to buy the extended versions on DVD becuz splitting the movies onto 2 discs was a dealbreaker for me. but should they be released on blu in the near (or not so near) future, I'll definitely get them.

At less than $24 for all 3 movies, its a no brainer. already placed my order.

I'm waiting for the EE as well, although I was tempted for a moment to pull the trigger on the TRs.

Not trying to tell you how to think, but is it really such an inconvenience to lose 2 seconds of your day putting a different disc in?

Changing disc is a good idea IMO, give a nice break at the midway point

lol yes! sounds silly but I remember back in the days when HK films were released on VHS and they'd split a 100 min movie onto 2 tapes and I hated it!!! I know the LOTR EE were like 3.5 hr+ but I just hate bringing the experience to a sudden halt.

Considering we were told the EE of LOTR wont be out until around the time the Hobbit is released I am happy with these movies for 8 dollars a pop. Principal Photography of the Hobbit is slated to begin in April with a 2012 Xmas release date... Yeah 23 dollars for almost 2 years enjoyment not a very hard decision.

Oh well my logic of just waiting for the EE versions has fallen on deaf ears at the house..I'll have all 3 movies by the 24th...

Like many here, I prefer the EE's as well, but all 3 movies for less than the price of the Avatar Collector's Edition have me ready to just go ahead and buy them.

Agree with everyone here. I was set to hibernate on the theatrical versions and get prepared for the extended versions...not the case anymore. The entire trilogy for $23.97? Sorry, you just won't see a deal like that very often.

I have to agree with this. I know I'm one of the few who feel this way, but I like having a food/drink/pee break. Besides, it allows a higher bitrate for video and audio, which is probably why the DVD's looked great until they put the extended onto one disc with the Special Editions.

Has it been made official of what Target is selling on BF, the whole trilogy for 7.99 or the standalones?

If I would have to guess..I would say just the standalones for that price. Who knows though? BF could be crazy for a few hours this year. Still, i would rather just order them off of Amazon (As i did), and not have to worry about lines. My time is worth the extra $20, and this is already a fantastic deal.
