3M industrial filters were able to capture over 95% of particles down to 0.007 micron. That’s over 10 times smaller than the coronavirus. What might be surprising to some is that the surgical mask was able to capture 80% of the tiny particles.

Several 3M masks were able to capture over 99% of tiny 0.01 micron particles (10 times smaller than the coronavirus), even while on people’s face. What’s more, surgical ones were surprisingly effective, capturing 63% of the tiny virus-sized particle

https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/...on-masks-work/

Also keep in mind, the virus is primarily transported through respiratory droplets, which are obviously larger than the virus by itself, which masks can no doubt filter.

Why would you be able to understand it now? I would assume streaming numbers would be going up, not down.

Video streaming of stuff like Netflix are up now. I can see music streaming being down because more people probably listened to music during commutes to/from work, or streaming at a gym, etc...

I'm irradiated..... 12 hours into the quarantine, had to take my old mother (the doom crow) to the doctor (she was disappointed there's not bodies in the streets - seriously), on three separated occasions today, the village idiots felt it necessary to let me know that I'm a f@@ for wearing a mask. Let's just say I don't play with that word and the last person was Shocked! at my language.

I wonder how the situation is going to pan out as the coronavirus infections intersect with the opioid epidemic/meth epidemic here in America.

There are probably millions of people out there with compromised immune systems due to addiction.

Well CNN had an article this morning saying overall men are 2.5 times more likely to die from the virus, due to higher levels of smoking and drinking (at least that's what they think the reason is).

So if you smoke, good time to quit. If you drink, good time to cut back.

The N95 masks work, and along with respirators, they are the most important piece of equipment that is sorely lacking right now.

https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/...surgical-mask/
Thats a sells site!
"The 'N95' designation means that when subjected to careful testing, the respirator blocks at least 95 percent of very small (0.3 micron) test particles."
"(CDC) does not recommend that the general public wear N95 respirators to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including coronavirus (COVID-19)."

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/...sks-face-masks

No non-airtight mask has been proven to stop the 0.125 micron virus no matter what sells sites say and or what misreading has been done.
And surgical masks are used to prevent germs from getting onto a patient not to stop viruses a common falsely used to promote this myth.

Financial Times:

The new coronavirus may already have infected far more people in the UK than scientists had previously estimated — perhaps as much as half the population — according to modelling by researchers at the University of Oxford.

If the results are confirmed, they imply that fewer than one in a thousand of those infected with Covid-19 become ill enough to need hospital treatment, said Sunetra Gupta, professor of theoretical epidemiology, who led the study. The vast majority develop very mild symptoms or none at all.

Up to half the population sounds very unrealistic to me. We really won't know the extent of how many people have been infected until we do widespread antibody tests. I fear it's a lot less than people estimate, but I'd love to be wrong about that. Technically speaking, we know a good proportion of the people probably wouldn't display many symptoms, if any at all. I just don't think that fact translates to such a population having already contracted the virus already.

The CDC is not recommending masks for the general public right now because they are scarce and want them for medical personal only. The medical personal would love to get their hands on as many as possible.

They offer huge protection, reducing the risk of airborne infection many times over, and if you have any evidence to refute the tests done on that "sells" site, then please feel free to present it.

Don't do either and have been jogging with much more regularity, you have to be the best you that you can be and stay as positive as you can while being careful. Still taking my precautions but on average day before this, I wouldnt interact directly with many people anyway, have my own work area, bathroom etc.

I saw a paper a week and a half ago It was estimating your risk of exposure was dropped by about 80 fold with an n95 and with a full face respirator it dropped by about 100 fold. I think those are the numbers according to the south koreans anyway who i would trust given the fact that they stopped this thing without full lock downs.
