Seriously, if I didn't mind waiting I would get it form CC. But I can't wait so I'm buying it day 1. LOL I already got both codes from GS and BB.

The beta had enough content in it to justify the $60 for most intensive purposes.

I can't even imagine how much the game will have available in retail... at least 50x more content.

Amazing.

Did you mean to take "all intents and purposes" and change it to "most", or are some of these purposes really intense?

My question to those who have played it. When you strip away the cute-ness and the customization of the game, how does LBP hold up simply AS a platformer? Does it really do anything new or unique compared to platformers that have come before it? I guess the reason I'm asking is because I worry that this game will get old very quickly based on the merits of the actual gameplay itself. I'm sure creating levels is fun, however in the end isn't it still basically move to the right, run, jump, duck, grab, etc?

Are all three of these costumes or just the Kratos? I got the Kratos costume code, but not the others.

To me, from a marketing standpoint it's like Sony just does not have any fight in them at all and that pisses me off. Where are they aggressively going after the consumer? It's like they have rolled their system out with the attitude of "ho hum, here's our console. If you want it, great. If you don't eh who cares."
There's been other debates here on this, but I think LBP is a perfect example of Sony's strategy (and I like it).

They are not tossing money at 3rd parties and are instead using it on their first party stuff.

Let's face it, 3rd party exclusives are going the way of the dodo. Once a game hits GTA or FF fame levels, it's too hard for a company to justify cutting their own bottom line to advance either console. It's just throwing away free money for them.

Let MS spend a ton of cash to woo FFXIII, GTA, etc... I'd rather see Sony spend the money on controlable properties like LBP, WKC, and DCUO. (As an aside, if champions online becomes huge we may see if I'm right or wrong - Cryptic might have a guarantee for a period of time, but I bet if it sells well on PC and Xbox360 that it will also get ported to PS3)

The fail comment was probably refering to the original assertion in the thread which said you were getting LBP for 44.99 and a CC gift card. (Which is not the case)

While it's not too revolutionary as a platformer, I think we'll see the tools used in manners that the developers never envisioned. Much like finding bugs in MMOs or typos in books, I think that once millions of people are banging on the game we'll see new stuff pop up that none of us can even envision right now. So on the new or unique front I think the answer is yes and no.

Yeah, IT GIVES YOU A JAW-DROPPING TOOL SET TO CREATE ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE!

What you're asking is akin to "If you take away all the guns and enemies, how does Halo3 stand up as a game?"

Well, I'm not sure anyone can really answer that yet - most people in the beta only played the first couple of levels. Most platformers start out pretty basic and get progressively harder and more complicated.

You should ask this question again a week after the game has been out to get a good response.

Creating levels can be fun - it's wide open.

Yes, in the end, it is - right, run, jump, duck, grab, etc - just like almost every other platformer out there. If you don't like platformers - you probably won't like this.

The single GameStop code from pre-ordering there will get you both of those, along with the Kratos costume, and the GoW themed level.

Has anyone heard about the level creator? Are we going to be given a specific amount of space each user can occupy? Surely they can't allow people to upload as many (and multiple GB sized) levels.

There is a trophy called "build a level using 30% of your meter" or something like that. I wonder if we're going to have a meter that says how much total level building space we have.

If you played the demo, there was something that looked like a thermometer on the left side of the screen. That measured how complex your level was. I didn't really pay much attention to how much of the meter I used up creating mine.

All best buy preorders do, unless you get like a free tshirt (rock band 2)....

But what do you do with those extra cases? They aren't blue...
