Everyone go play BorrowedTime's levels. They're some of the best I've played, and definitely deserve higher playcounts.

Some things that BorrowedTime might want to note (I mentioned these in comments on your levels, but might as well mention them here):

I ran out of lives on "The Wall" in the SOCOM level. Is there something I'm doing wrong (a way to avoid being crushed by the new stack of steps being added?) or is it possible to change the gate to a 2x Life gate, instead of a regular one?

On the Firefly level, the machine where you push the blocks kept getting jammed. I figured you have to clear out each layer first, and then finally push the key block down from the top. Problem is no matter how slow I tried to push it always seems to get clogged up. [insert "that's what she said" joke here]. The blocks being pushed ended up on top of the point bubbles, and then they'd just jam up.

The rest of the level (from the brief part I saw) was really good. I really liked the idea of the sewer, complete with the manhole cover you have to pry up. Very good (and very good show, for those who haven't seen Firefly).

Sounds like great fun. I'll check it out tonight. (I have all the shows and movie on DVD).

Hmmm... Thanks for the feedback Toefer. I'll change the life gate to a double in Bitter Jungle, and probably remove the point bubbles from the warehouse stacks altogether when I get home tonight.

I really liked The Garden at Midnight, CYMBOL. Funny thing about that level is I got my "Incredible Heights" Trophy off of it, and I didn't even know I was missing that one.

I was so excited about getting past the "the wall" part of the SOCOM level. I have 80% of the stuff but I think I got tripped up by something after that section. So, I'm not sure if I finished the level yet. Is there a way to tell (Heh, I probably need to read the manual)? Anyway, I really like it though. Heh, on your Winter Games level I don't think I've gotten past the first section in that one. Looking forward to checking out the Firefly level.

As for CYMBOL's level, I really like that one as well but it's another one that I'm stuck on. With that one, it's the double wheels and more specifically the spikes at the top of the 2nd wheel that keep getting me. There have been a few things like that on the user created levels here (that I get stuck on) but normally after a day or so I'll revisit the level and get past whatever was tripping me up. So, I haven't given up yet. Wish there was a way to save progress though so I didn't have to start over.

Once you finish a level, it will be marked by a little gold sackboy face, when viewing it on the world map.

What each icon is:

Gold sackboy face -- completed the level
Gold pouch -- found all the prize bubbles in the level
Gold spade -- completed the level without dying
Red heart -- shows up if you heart a level

Does anybody have any ideas? I've built a dragster and want it to deploy a parachute (currently made out of sushi) once it's gone passed to finish line. I have the parachute saved as a separate object and can use proximity switches and emitters to get it appear, but is there a way for it to remain attached to the car once it appears rather than falling to the ground away from the car as it does now?

Oh wow, that is very early on in my level (you're probably less then 25% of the way through). The biggest complaint people seem to have with my level is that it is too long. ( I kind of get that now. Cause when I run out of lives, it can be huge hassle to restart - I'm finding that out as I keep replaying my new level).

I ALWAYS provide double life checkpoints no matter what - no reason to make a hard part even harder.

I used almost every area of space available on The Garden at Midnight - I even have some areas that do a figure 8, but I think I designed it in such a way that the player never even notices they are dropping through an area which was blocked before.

Please let me know what your final verdict is once you complete it.

Thanks Owa,

Wow, that's cool. I didn't set it up to get a trophy - that's great that provides that one.

Did you find it too long? Any parts give you problems?

I can't wait to try out your Serenity level.

My next level isn't as long - but still filled the themometer - I think it was all the snow. I really wanted it to snow in my Winter Wonderland. I wanted to really have something that was instantly different than any other Winter or Christmas themed level I've seen.

Not sure how great the effect is - my wife saw it, and said, "What are those things falling?" Hopefully, everybody else will instantly realize it's snow.

I'm still fine tuning my Christmas Level. I think I've spent a solid 50+ hours on it. I'm not sure if that time shows, but the snow and characters took ALOT of my time to "per-fect". They look quite simple actually, but it took a while experimenting to get something to come close to what I envisioned.

In the end, I'm not sure how sucessful my 2nd level will come across - I had fairly EPIC plans - you would battle Jack Frost and the 3 villians - the level was going to be MASSIVE. Instead, all you get is an introduction to the main villians - not sure, but that may simply come across as annoying.

You ever have to scale back your levels because of the themometer, or because your idea was just too big and time consuming?

I don't think there is any to emit something "attached".

Could you set it up to emit with a string that goes through a slot in your car and on the end of the string is an object to big to go through the slot (insert dirty thought here ) - like a "T: shape, or a hook.

Do you get what I mean? Not sure it would work. The back end of the vehicle would have to be shallow so you could place the "T" shaped object inside. I'm not sure if you can emit an object like that (within another object). Should work if the 3 planes don't conflict. That's why you would have to hollow out that back part.

That's the only thing I can think of (A parachute with a hook or T emitting within the back part of the vehicle) - hope that helps. The emitter would obviously have to be attached to the care and triggered later.

I wish there was a way to see how much of the thermometer every level was using. After playing the 3 Sack to the Future levels, I was wondering why the scenery looked so crappy. The levels are designed really well (in terms of layout, and how they are played) which makes me think the guy making the levels is capable of also making the level objects look better. So I wonder if he had to simplify everything (the houses, clocktower, etc) because of thermometer issues, or if he just didn't feel like spending time on making better looking versions.

And I wonder the same thing about all lengthier boards. Did the person who made them just not care about the details, because it too so long just to lay out the entire level? Or is the level so large that the detail had to be scaled back?

The only reason I really wonder, is so I can take note when thinking about making my own levels, and the tradeoffs involved.

I thought you've made levels? What's the most you've filled up the themometer?

Like I said, I think all the snow in my new level is what skyrocketed the themometor on my new level - not so much the shapes, etc.

I plan on publishing it tonight. The more I play it (through test-runs) the more I think it just didn't come out as I hoped. I'll be interested to hear what you guys think later - be sure to be truthful, it's just a game and you won't hurt my feelings if it's cr@p. You can tell me if the baby's ugly.

Oh, and it will be titled - Winter Wonderland - Part I, (Meet the Villians) (I know, crazy, huh?)

Here's one for you all...

I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE "SCOREBOARD" ITEM IN THE CREATION TOOLS MENUS!!! After getting 100% prize bubbles and 100% levels completed without dying, I now can build a level but not allow it to be complete?!?!? Am I missing something here?

Did you go through all the tutorials (including all the tutorials in your toolbox that have question marks on them).

Many of your tools that you get for level building are from going through the tutorials.

Yes... I did go through those. Like I said, I used to be able to place scoreboards down. Now I can't even select the scoreboard in order to place it. It has just vanished from my items list. Also missing is the Race Gate items.

That's not good. Wow, sounds like a serious issue.

Did you take out your disc, shut down your PS3 and then turn it on and load the disc again?

Maybe something glitched during a save - hopefully it will "reload" (no pun intended with your avatar ) and you'll be back to normal.

My PS3 glitched on me the other day - it (or me, on accident) ejected LBP while I was in creation mode. I put the disc back in, and it ejected it. Tried multiple times, tried other games and movies - spit them out.

Restarted everything and everything worked like new - luckily all the creation stuff I was doing was just testing and I didn't lose anything (cause everything I had done from before the last save was gone ).

Thanks for the comments.

Also, to combine this with a later post, I'm surprised I'm only at 25% on The Garden at Midnight. I figured I was close to the finale since many of the user levels are pretty short. I'll work on that level tonight and hopefully get past that point at least.

Ah, that helps. Thanks for the info. I knew the heart of course but wasn't sure what the other symbols were supposed to be telling me (other than I had played that paricular level before).
