I published my 3D level (officially). I hate when people give it Tags that don't apply. It has "Springy" loaded on it. There is not one "springy" thing in the level. Ugh!

It also has an "annoying" tag. I think the "annoying/frustrating" tags need to go away. It should say, "hard/difficult", I hate when people give something a low rating cause they can't beat it - especially when they quite early and don't even finish the level.

It started out as a 5 star level - down to 4 - the tags won't help with the plays.

If anyone wants to play it - and give it a good rating and tag (only if you feel it deserves it), it would be appreciated. If you feel it sucks, let me know what I can do to make it better in the game comments, or on this site.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I'll try it this week end, because I'm out of town and forgot that game!

Ok, cool.

I might republish again.

It went to 3 stars - I don't understand why. Was at four, for a while - then went down. The problem is - the stars default to the current setting, since most people simply select whatever the current star rating is - it will likely never go back up.

Maybe I have a poor perspective - but I think most of my later levels are 4's. Oh well.

Yeah your levels are in the best user created in there in my opinion... and very challenging!

Thanks buddy, nice of you to say.

I published the level - so far, 4 stars (was 3 for a long time - I never thought it would go up), and near 150 plays. Still have the weekend to get more.

I've decided to make another level - this time, though, I've decided to have a level with a story. This level will be "very loosely" based on the horror movie, "The Descent". Should be fun.

Hello all,

Doesn't seem to be too many peeps playing LBP these days (on this forum any way), but if there are any left, please feel free to play my latest endevour - "The Great Race 3D".

It has 4 stars and 160 play - with tags such as, "Brilliant, Beautiful, Ingenious". . . of course, at one time it had tags such as, "Annoying, Long, Weird" too, soooooo....

More photos are listed in the post at the top of the page.

Thanks to everyone that has already taken the time to try it - as you know, building these levels takes hours and hours, so I'm sure any creator appreciates it when you all take a moment to dust off the game and give their new level a try.

Take it easy all.

Woohoo!

Last I looked - The Great Race 3D was finally "stuck" on the cool pages. Page 6.

Thanks Fsavoie - saw that you played it.

Question

Hey you guys, I'm really wondering something:

How the heeeck do you get those custom or different backgrounds in your own levels?
Cause, I know you can pick the background before and during creating a level.
And that's all I've used...
But how about all those other ones, do I have to download or create them or something?

There are no other backgrounds then the ones provided (either in storymode, or the ones that come with purchased content, ie. Pirates, Metal Gear, etc.) - or the ones you create yourself.

The 3D effect is amazing! My little kid was looking me playing, and each section with lots of lights he was always saying : "wowww!"

The only problem I had with it is the pillor section near the beginning. The camera angle make it very difficult (at least for me) to jump on them.

I've also tried the missing child level (I don't remember the exact name) but couldnt figure out how to get to those child. I've used the turning "cross" but couldnt get very far after that.

Thanks. I was playing with another buddy, and he kept stopping and saying, "Whoa". Very cool to have people appreciate the time that gets put into these levels. Thanks again for playing.

Yeah, the camera angle is a bit off - the first jump can be a bit annoying. I probably should have changed that.

Yeah, I never bothered republishing "The City of Lost Children" cause I realized it was a time consuming and frustrating level. I made it "pretty", so that people could simply stroll through and look at all the pretty lights - but I think a lot of people got to the end and had NO IDEA they missed all the children.

In the end, I decided it would get bad ratings based on the frustration level and never republished - it only has 18 plays or so.

The Great Race 3D is still on page 5/6 (keeps going back and forth) - and has over 900 plays so far. I'm really glad, cause I spent a lot of time beta testing that level for design options.

Right now, I'm having a creative block. I usually create based on gameplay - but now I want to do a story level - but I'm finding the level boring. May play something else for a bit while I think about it.

Guess no one one blu-ray is playing this anymore.

Well, it's the last day for my level to remain stuck on the "Cool Pages".

It's on page 2 or 3 - and have over 2,200 plays, so I'm fairly happy with it.

I have some really cool things I'm testing out right now for another level - problem is, they "look cool", but I can't figure out a reason to have them in the level.

The visuals are really strange - looks like a really crazy hallucination.

A visual level is not in any way worst than a music one...

Haha, well, to be honest - I don't really care for the music levels.

The visuals I came up with are really interesting and I've never seen anything like them, so I'm excited to use them - but they need a "purpose" to be in the level.

I had an idea that the sackperson is trapped in a laboratory - where they are doing testing on little sacks boy and girls. Of course, you escape, and maybe fall into a chemical liquid - meant to enhance people's brain power. This liquid should never be used an sack people cause it's too much for them to handle - so, now you have to escape while things keep getting stranger as the hallucinations grow more intense.

I had also thought that maybe I would simply have a sackperson stuck in a dream. Then, I don't have to explain anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

I love that idea!! You can do an intro like metal gear solid that explains a little bit and then continue with your level.

Yeah, the only thing with doing a story is, of course, it is much more complicated and must have a "real world" essence - in other words, takes a lot more time to create - but could be cool.

Being stuck in a dream could be cool because you can design anything you want - doesn't matter whether it looks real or not.

Hard to decide.

I had even thought about doing a Superhero themed story - where the hero is drugged and must find the antedote.

But the sack boy first is in a sack boy world so who said that he must be in a real laboratory, he could be just stuck in some voodoo sack boy making experiment on him.... second he is on alluscination from start... so you have a lots of room for creation of non real life things
