So... I finally starting building some stuff in the level creator after hearing it will remain after beta (worked on my control system for flight basically using a hot air balloon model).

That aside, I noticed something... spectacular (and, RClarke... This is for you!).

Shin-ra hinted at it in his direct response about being able to 'link' levels but it's FAR more than that.

In your level creation planet you have creation craters that can contain up to ->10<- levels within them that are all linked and can be completely intertwined to make stories, alternating environments, etc. It's grand.

You can not only make your own levels but you can basically make your own CAMPAIGN by linking your craters together!! You could literally make several multi-level craters worth of levels and offer them out as an ongoing campaign/story/whatever. It's intense. Imagine creating a campaign the size of the original Media Molecule one that came with the game... you can do it.

So, yes, LBP has a story with a point in the main package. But, I'm 100% sure we will see some extensive and very interesting storytelling from the community as well (many having a 'point' even, I'm sure).

I'm pretty freakin' excited.

The jump, run, pull, push is just the basic building blocks of any interactive environment. You can take those things and turn them into shoot/fly/grow/etc. and then create on top of that! It is truly limitless.

Edit: Silversnake pointed out to me that the beta ended but apparently if you don't quit the game you can keep playing (so far) so I'm still in it!

Apparently LBP is the first game to get 10/10 in all of the regional GameReactor mags:

Elitegamer.es (Spain) 10/10
GameReactor Magazine (Denmark) 10/10 [English Video Review]
GameReactor Magazine (Sweden) 10/10
GameReactor Magazine (Norway) 10/10
GameReactor Magazine (Finland) 10/10
Official PlayStation Magazine (UK) 10/10
Pelaajalehti Magazine (Finland) 10/10
Meristation.com (Spain) 9.5/10
Eurogamer.net (UK) 9/10
GamePlayer.se (Sweden) 9/10

I think some reviewers will always avoid giving a 10 even if a game seems perfect and massive simply because they truly believe there is no such thing as a '10' product as everything has flaws (in LBP's case it is the controls... they should have used lego batman controls lol).

But truly, this game will eat away hours of your life. Beware!

I thought the tutorials were pretty quick actually... only took me a couple hours to nail all of them for the content. Once you get the gist of 'connecting one end to one thing and the other end to another thing' it seems to go VERY fast.

The one thing I overlooked, hilariously, was the ability to 'smear' shapes. Dont' know how I missed it but the first time I was 'creating' I was *****ing out loud about how I have to pull the corners on the square to make a rectangle and that blows... Then I learned to smear and life was good.

they could still change something between now and release if you all only got Beta. OR something might have already changed.

Another musical level, but this one isn't blank with nothing to do:

Radiohead: No Surprises

edit: New trailer (new to me anyway)

That's only the first click on '?' tutorials...

You will see yellow and pink icons attached to stuff in your popit that trigger videos and other tutorial levels. You get a lot of content from completing those as well.

As to just making stuff... you just use the shape tools and shape it out basically. Then add what you need for functionality.

Yeah, when you first enter the Pop-It menu in Create mode, there'll be a ? top-center. Just keep running through the tutorials until you're finished. Object creation is actually pretty easy. I made up a little prize for people who finish my level.

I wish I'd known not to turn off LBP to keep the beta running. Wonder who the last man standing will be.

The only problem with this game is the online lag, but I hear they're addressing that, so hopefully that's good to go. It was a lot of fun playing with people on line, but the lag ruined it.

Creating levels is soooooo time consuming. It will be many, many days before I have one ready. Maybe I'm trying for something too grande and should just making something small first.

I played a God of War level that was crazy - that person must never sleep.

I cant live without my bluray player..... Had 2 log off LBP! It was easy 2 get my wifey 2 love this game and rush over 2 get our gamestop codes! Even before release, I can easily say this game is totally worth the 60bucks! I carefully select and purchase my games mainly using REPLAY value as my primary incentive. Good family fun, wish I knew I could play multiplayer on the beta earlier.... didnt discover it until my son turned on another remote when I was playing and another sackboy popped up! Good times to come!
