Scary.

I'm not sure I could go on if I didn't get my spacesuit.

Yes. Because absolutely no one has died over cartoons and bounties haven't been put on artists heads, and writers haven't had to go into hiding for years.

I never said they didnt, but no one at all has made any sort of threat regarding LBP.

I'm going to write a letter about stuff in LBP that offends me, so MM/Sony will delay it some more.

Oh wait, that won't work . . .

If you're mad, you can make Mohammad themed levels

Kinda risky strategy though

Sadly I will not be buying this game... Day one. I have had it taken away so many times now that I don't care. I have literally had it in my hand four times now. Each time it got taken away. Hell I even paid for it once. now I just don't care about it. It's lost it's appeal. I'll just go build levels in Far Cry 2. I know LBP will be there when I get done.

Not only that, but in a season with so many good games, even a one week delay can push it way down on people's depth charts.

That's what happened with me. I was saving a certain # of funds, and there was going to be 1 game out that I'd have to wait on and get used. It was going to be Bioshock, but now it's LBP.

Actually, I may just wait until I can get it for $20, which I'm actually guessing will happen quicker than many think. 4-5 hours of gameplay will hardly keep people's interest. I personally am way too lazy to care about making my own levels, and I'm predicting the majority of people will get real tired, real quick of playing other people's crappy levels.

Bargain bin title by March 1.

Which is why IMO sony's pushing this thing out ASAP. If it releaeed by 11/15 like people were estimating, it seriously would have cannibalized on other ps3 games, both exclusive & multiplat.

I agree with you 100% though. It's like the beta hyped everyone up & everyone got a huge erection for the game, and this delay is a bucket of cold water. It's losing it's impulse purchase power. For me, I'm looking at R2 exactly 1 week after LBP is released. Will I have time to play LBP once I'm into R2 hardcore? Probably not. Even after R2, there are and will be tons of other games released as well.

I dunno, sometimes I think we are too close to the situation.
We all know what happened and why, and what the cause is. We have all been looking forward to this game for months and months. We have all been keeping track of the development and release of this game.
But to most people, LBP is not out yet, and it is getting a lot of attention. Some might not be positive, but it shouldn't hurt it too much.
I feel that perhaps, to those who are not as close to the game industry, this game might just have what it takes to make it big, despite the delay. The commercials will be seen by more people, it will be closer to the holiday shopping...
I think that it is too early to judge on if this will have any impact on sales, but I doubt it will.

So, let me see if I'm reading this right...

Because you couldn't get a store to sell you a copy of a game that was recalled, you no longer want it? Was the appeal of the game only that you might have it before other people?

Well i hope your right cause as of right now for me, it kind of lost its touch
when you expect something on a certain day for so long then out of no where you find out its not coming it does have an effect on you.

It's called "Sour Grapes", it's a fable from Aesop that illustrates the exact thing he is saying.

That is exactly the reason I am not going to be buying it. I've done too much work on games already to want to build anything for this game, it's not as much fun as people think it is long term. It becomes drudge work, then you have people whining about every little thing you change. You change something that long term will make it better, but because short term it made it easier before the change they whine about it. They whine if what they chose as a character isn't the best, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Playing online player created games is a huge crap shoot as it is. You may luck out and find one that's good, and then find another one highly rated that turns out to be complete crap, but they have tons of friends that stuffed the ballot box and it got highly rated within minutes. Then you find another one that is highly rated correctly, but it's something you just can't stand to begin with. So after spending hours trying to find a board you like, you finally play it, enjoy it, beat it, and then have to start trying to find another one all over.

I don't think it's worth my time to do something like this game, but I hope those that do it, enjoy it, and can keep up with creating great levels, and can easily find boards you enjoy playing!

I agree - I was hyped after the beta - was waiting to get it day one with a lot of other people - and when it didn't happen, a lot of other people I know went and put that money towards another game.

Me, I started up Warhawk and started arranging weekend games again.

Unfortunately, this took momentum away from a game that deserved it.

People spent that money on other games, and they lost a lot of impulse buyers. We'll never know what day one sales could have been.

I do hope that the game is able to find it's footing after the stumble out of the gate. They missed that lightening in a bottle release.

Has anyone Aced the first level (tutorial) of Running and Jumping?
Is there a way across the bridge that breaks and shows the video about restarting, without falling down the hole and having to restart at the last checkpoint?

Sorry don't know how to spoiler tag... though I doubt this spoils anything...

You "restart" on the other side of the hole. Falling down the hole is part of the training.
