And if you don't finish in 30 seconds, a bomb goes off at the beginning of the level, and then a giant chain reaction happens.
hences the name weapon.

I hope this means they'll be turning on the Play/Create/Share things soon. I have no idea what the numbers are even meant for, but at least it will look nicer than seeing all those 0's all the time.

It will show how many online levels you have played, created, and how many times you have commented (shared thoughts about a level). (or something like that, i'm studying and can't fully remember right now.)

Your tip did the trick.

The only slightly frustrating thing is there is absolutely no way to add any color to a level. I didn't really plan to for the Chaplin level, but it would've been cool to see or make a Wizard of Oz type level, where you go from a sepia tone into the full-on color area.

I'm thinking what I'm going to do is have a collection of random scenes from the various Chaplin movies, instead of trying to make the level entirely about a single movie. This way I can do something with the gears he rode around on in Modern Times, the boiled shoe he ate in Gold Rush, and the globe he juggled in The Great Dictator.

Not sure what I will actually do in the level, but maybe make the story that some of the film was lost, and certain scenes need to be re-filmed, but Chaplin (or Sacklin) disappeared, and isn't around to film them, and maybe you find/rescue him at the end. Maybe in the beginning of the level you are given a mustache, and I will set it up as a sticker switch, so that it stands out in your pop-it cursor, and you are told to put it on before "filming" the scenes. Who knows. I'll keep thinking it over.

The only moderation should be that people should list what their level entails in the description. People should be able to choose where and what they want to play, without "big brother" telling them what they can or cannot do.

yes, all of our problems in our society and country is due to over-censuring. the economy sucks because south park had to bleep out some f-bombs.

the fact remains that MM has declared that any offensive content will be removed. if you are upset with this fact, make your own user content game and say you can create whatever you want with whatever you want in it.

Wow. I never thought I'd see someone defend a racist level.

I'm just glad Mm is a private company, and doesn't have to follow the 1st amendment.

I should recommend a book to whoever made that level, so he can pass the time while waiting for it to be moderated. For now, here's a quote.

I'm not defending a racist level, I am defending freedom of speech. Why do we watch Blazing Saddles on Blu-ray for? You can bet your ass that it's a racist movie, but the fact remains that it's a good classical movie.

However, that example goes beyond my point. YOU, nor I should define what is "ok" and what is "not ok" for other people. People themselves should decide this. What's next, censorship on the internet? No more porn?

I for one, would not mind playing an X-rated LBP level. I do understand that children play this game, however, many adults play this game as well. The game should be made like the internet is made. Parents should be censoring what is seen in the game. An easy password protected checkbox in the menu screen can turn on or off explicit content (just like the internet). This make "one rule fit all" is exactly what I don't want.

My point still stands. People should be able to create whatever they want to create, and share what they want to share. Let the market (the LBP community) take control of it. If the level is not acceptable, then it won't get rated high, and people won't see it.

It's this mindset that "We know what's best for others" is what's harmful to others, and really makes people look like big fat bigots.

And you totally saw right through that didn't you? What is offensive to you, may not be offensive to me. You cannot define "offensive". Offensiveness is defined on an individual level.

If you don't like the content, then don't play it. Don't whine about it and report it. Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean that I won't. Get the point?

Now, a racist level, I can see a small red flag there. But what's next? What if someone made a bloody level, or something that is sexual in nature? What about a level filled with marijuana leafs and alcohol? See how this can just expand rapidly?

btw- I've aced all but 3 levels. Only thing I left to do before I get all the items is some of the later 3 and 4 player sections. You guys are welcome to sign in and help me out

No biggie, you kept trying to sticker my pod and I keep telling you on mic "dont do it, if you do ill kick you" so after awhile of the same threat (and more stamps by you) I did. I dont like when people sticker my pod. And did you say your mic was on mute or you were mute, as I keep hearing background sound from you but not you talking. Typing is VERY laggy in LBP. Your sackboy DOES look like Rick Astley (sp?) though.

Im still amazed, we were able to connect. We havent been able to for like a month. Might be the update?

This reminds me. I always wanted to ask, can you save your pod layout? It seems that when people stick crap in it, that you have to go through and manually delete everything.

This is why I leave my pod alone.

i can understand your argument, but this is where everything you just said falls apart. children can be told what is good for them, and what is not good for them, for a number of reasons. children are told what is good for them every day at school. children are told school is good for them and required to go...until they are adults. and since children play this game, MM has to "up the ante" with respect to censuring. it was one of MM's goals to allow everyone to play this game.

this game pretty much was founded in censuring. the whole freaking game was delayed a week to edit out a line from a verse. does that make you upset, or are you just mad because you feel judged when someone else thinks a level that you want to play is "inappropriate" ? (serious question)

that is the point. MM has to accommodate for any definition of "offensive" since children are playing it. until they come up with a better system for censuring (which they said they are working on), this is how it is.

i dont think so, but you can remove any stickers someone places in your pod. although its a pain, its one way you can clean up. if someone is a d-bag about it, just un-befriend him/her and they can't place anymo stickers

Haha. Well that explains it. I didn't hear your mic at all while playing, so I had no idea you were ever talking.

You have to admit the Connect Four floor was a nice touch though.

With a password protected system, LBP can be made for everyone. Another-words, you can get the best of both worlds. Children will not be able to see what is not available for them. The burden should be on the parents, and not the game producers itself to make a "one rule fits all". Abortion, gun control, weed, alcohol, prostitution, language, violence, etc should not be categorized in a "one rule fits all" category. I don't care what you think about these concepts, and you shouldn't care what I think about these concepts. These are all things placed on an individual (state) level. Our founding fathers never intended for this, thats why we have state laws. If you simply don't like something, then there is a state out there for you! In Wisconsin, it is illegal to buy cars on Sunday, and you are also allowed to go to a bar and drink underage, as long as your parents accompany you. Don't like it? Then move somewhere else. Don't sit around and complain and change things just because what "you" think is better for everyone else.

I am completely, 100% in agreement with you that LBP should be made for EVERYONE. That is what makes it such a damn good game. I consider this title to be the greatest plat-forming game ever made. Yes, Mario can take a hike. I obviously would not care to much to make these threads if I didn't think the game was worth it. The fact is, the more variety of levels = more replay value. I've only had this game for a week, and I've put probably 60 hours into it already. I am starting to see somewhat of the end of the light at the tunnel.

I do understand that MM is working on a better system, but it likely will not change things as far as leniency is concerned. I've already mentioned the best system above. Adding a password system isn't hard to do. Know that MM does not look at everything. In-fact, I believe they only look at material that has been reported, as it would be impossible to survey every level published. They shouldn't have to. There should be a password system, and the creators should be able to rate their games accordingly so they don't have to waste time themselves.

As to your question, I likely would agree with MM about removing the first line in a lyric, even though I would love to know what they removed in the first place. Why do I agree? Because music tracks can be used for any level, even the "E" rated ones.

Just wait till censorship hits Playstation Home. Then it's going to go from "lame" to "very lame". JMO.

Sorry, but "online" is part of the game - right now, the game isn't working - that's a major issue. (Online seems to always be an issue with new releases).

Hope they figure this stuff out soon.
But, aren't they a first time publisher? I've never heard of Media Molecule until 'LittleBigPlanet' came about. If this is their first major title, I completely forgive their blunders. If they are indeed trapsing through uncharted waters, I'm willing to give them some time to get things going properly. The game as a standalone property works fantastic. That's what matters most until 'LittleBigPlanet 2' sees the light of day. THAT is when the release date had better provide me with a finished product that is fully functional and glitch free.

Give them a break folks. They may not have realized, and therefore may not have been completely prepared for, just what a force of nature they had created.

I don't think most people are too upset that the share/create/etc. counters still show "zero" - and as I mentioned, it seems to be just part of releasing a game that online will be a total mess for the first month (in my experience so far - even one of my favorite games, Warhawk, was a complete mess when first released).

I think people are upset with their handling of moderation issues. If you decide you are going to be the morale police you really need to have a concrete plan - this seems like an area they should have contrated on deeply.

Instead there has been mass confusion - they previewed cool levels with GoW themes and other gaming themes - and later took those down due to Itellectual Property (IP) issues. Then put some of them back up - then took them down, then up - then took down other major well known levels and then up - and then down.

The problem is - the explanations have been quite confusing and of little help.

So, it's not one specific issue - I think it's all the little bits adding up to make an annoying situation - and the communication level from MM has been very low.

Either they say what they've always said and don't clarify - or we get the "more to come" line.

I'm still sticking with them and I'm enjoying the game (although there are plenty of tiny glitches and small improvements they can still/hopefully make).

It's not horrible - but there are issues and the only one I would give them a pass on (being new) is the online issues. All others rest squarely on their shoulders - no way around that.
