Good, glad to hear it worked out. As for the thermometer - the thermometer and I are mortal enemies! I hate the thermometer. It definitely killed my Puzzle Wheels II level to the point where I just don't like it.

Btw, I have a question for everyone.

I have the Puzzle Wheels II level and a seperate Puzzle Wheel Survival Challenge.

I was going to add a key into Puzzle Wheels II to unlock the survival challenge. I thought by adding it in the level it kind of gave the level more "value".

But now I'm considering just leaving the survival challenge seperate without needing to play PWII to access.

So, my choices and thoughts are on the Survival Challenge:
1. Leave it in the PWII level - adds "value" to playing that level.
2. Make it seperate - allows for more people to access the level without having to play a specific level first.

The main reason I say adding "value" is that I'm not happy with PWII (at all), so I feel adding the survival challenge helps make up a bit for my sorry level.

What do you guys think would be best?

I vote for the key! It give us a progression feeling to both your levels I think. A little bit like the story mode in the game...

Only Puzzle Wheels I is out - I'm currently working on PWII and the PW Survival Challenge. But if you haven't tried Puzzle Wheels I or The Great Race, let me know what you think if you get a moment to try them. (Actually PWI take 20 minutes or more - so, you might want to save that one for when you have some time set aside).

Yeah, I think it give people the sense of "Cool, I have something else to look at after this is done". Of course, it greatly reduced the number of people who might get to play it.

What to do, what to do. . . .

I would go with the key idea first, gives people something to go for other than 'just' finishing your level. You could always remove the key-lock at a later stage and open it up to everybody (I assume that's possible).

I'm a mean person, and when I finish a level and see the "Community Level" thing unlocked, I never actually go and try it. My assumption is always "it's probably this same level again, with nothing too different".

I've never had the same feeling of accomplishment playing online levels as I do with the story levels. In the story I actually want to get all the prizes. In the online levels, when I get prizes I feel like its generally trash, and was only put in by the creator to show they know how to add prizes, or they're delusional and think people want their stuff.

This coming from the guy who has given away crap like "red Connect 4 chip", so I'm not completely innocent.

I was thinking the same thing (but didn't want to confuse the issue. ).

I thought I could include it using the key as a way of saying "Thanks" to those who try it early. (Although, it's not like people are lining up to play the new level, so I'm not sure that idea quite works). But, at least I'd feel I was giving more value to the people who give it a shot, since it will be a new level.

I've only played one level that unlocked another - but it was a continuation of the story, so it worked. I would imagine if you liked the level, you'd try the unlocked one - if not, you might pass on it.

Well, to be fair MM's profile space issues kind of killed this. I started creating stickers with the PSEye Toy but it destroyed my profile space having them and I felt bad giving them out. So, I stopped. It's a real pain that I have to go and delete any object, sticker or photo I get in a level cause it will affect my ability to save progress in the game - so, I rarely give out anything any more. Puzzle Wheels had 2 objects - one was hidden and the other you got for completing all 4 wheels.

I would have loved to have created stickers and give them away - but with profile space issues - I've figured I had better not.

That's awesome - but hey, that was like your first level. I have 3 prizes in my first level. One of them is a rocketship. . . . the second one is. . . a rocketship with lights! Hey! I was just happy I had figured out how to make a rocketship (and get it to emit too!).

Oh well, hopefully, our prizes are a bit better these days. I'm planning on giving away more helpful things. In Puzzle Wheels II I'm giving a way a pack of pre-made trigger switch boards for creators. However, it will be in a hidden room.

Took the words out of my mouth. I agree though. I'm sure your level will already be challenging, so why not offer a reward for the people who like your creations and the non quitters

Ok, I'll go ahead and lock the survival challenge - then unlock it in a month or so.

So, should I put the key at the end of the level? Or should I just give it to people when they enter the level?

As before the last wheel will be optional. I'm not happy with Puzzle Wheels II, but at least feel the survival challenge helps to make up a little for it.

I'm still tweaking the survival challenge. I think it will have some replay value since the point is obviously to get the highscore - but I think people will find is interesting to see how the level changes the longer you survive. . .

Since your going to have an optional last wheel I would say have the key be the prize. Make them earn it!!! LOL

Welcome back folks. Now that the smell of chocolate and mess of pink, white & red silly string around the house is gone (oh, was that just me?), wanted to let you know of some cool things around the world of LBP.

LittleBigWedding
You might’ve remembered a few months ago we saw our first marriage proposal via an LBP user generated level. Over on the LittleBigWorkshop.com forums, DimmuJed, posted an update with a new announcement level.

Remember the level I made where I got engaged with a LittleBigPlanet level? Well now I made a level inviting you all to our wedding in LBP! We are going to have the actual ceremony inside of little big planet with a level on April 11th. You will be able to check out the level online, and the ceremony on a video come April 11th.

Congrats to the both of you, and let us know where you’re registered…

“Sack-tacular Levels” - LittleBigLove - by realil
Looks like “realil” fell in fell in love with the latest V-day mini-pack items and created a cool little level. We particularly liked the heart-shaped score bubbles, the 2-player challenge and the spelling of “LOVE.” Great job.

Don’t forget, today is the last day to download the Valentine’s day mini-pack off the PlayStation Store.

SackBoy @ToyFare (continued)…
Last week we introduced the 4″ SackBoys to be featured at Toy Fair 2009 in NY. Check out Geekanerd’s latest trip to the fair with a bunch of new picks, including a peek at the 2″ figures + keychain prototypes.

…from the Molecules
Check out some great updates over at mediamolecule.com, including:
WipEout HD costume pack @ PlayStation Store
And finally, we have a new set of costumes waiting for you on the PlayStation Store tomorrow - the WipEout costume pack showcases 4 stunning new designs, sure to inspire many racing levels.

BONUS: included in the costume pack are a handful of stickers to help theme your levels to our of our favorite racing franchises (looks like brnxblze got a sneak peek).

All this for just $2.99

That’s it for this week. Until then, take this sack-sized HAD-U-KEN!

What a small world it is!

I submitted my level to these guys over at a sight called Leper Messiah to do a "Video Review" of my level. They do the reviews and post it on youtube. They also do "Text Reviews". Of course, you have to join the site to submit your level.

Anyway, they kept saying they were backed up on reviews, so I said I'd help out writing Text Reviews if they needed an extra hand. They readily accepted me and I did my first review last night . . . . of a level by brnxblze.

How funny.

Here is my review.

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Leper_Messi...1244489/1/#new

(The video review of my level is way down on their list - but I thought it would be kind of cool to have. Of course, it might not be that cool if they trash it - which they have done on a few levels. They're pretty honest.)

I went through the HUUUUUGE hassle of signing up for that site, but when I click the link it still says "You do not have permission to access this topic".

Are you being sarcastic about it being a hassle to sign up? Just wondering if you had a problem cause it took me only a few moments.

Also, I read the text reviews and watched the video reviews before signing up so I'm not sure why you might not be able to see the review. Very strange.

Anyway, if they weren't good enough to complete the first part, are they really up for the challenge
