Apparently the LBP PSP game is real, and will be out in the fall, and "will offer a similar experience to the PS3 version with players being able to play, create and share on the go."

Can't read it at work - but I saw the release in the PSP section. My only question is - Can I create a level and transfer it to my PS3 and play it there?

I'll get it if I can - if it's only PSP, as in - only PSP users can access the level - then I'm not really interested.

Posted for new page - for anyone that wants to try the new level and leave any feedback.

If anyone knows where the secret room is on my "The Great Race" level, you can go there and find the key for the "Puzzle Wheel - Survival Challenge".

I only ask that you try it more than once before posting your two cents on the level. I don't want too many people to beta test - I already have 3 - but I figured if anyone knows where the secret room is, it's because I've either shown you - or you figured it out on your own and so it's cool if you try the PW-SC.

I'll probably open it up tonight (if the beta testers don't find any major glitches).

I'm the same way. I'm not really interested in a completely separate PSP version of the game.

I can test your level later.

Yeah, it's hard enough getting a level played on the PS3 - I'm not spending hours and days for 5 people to play it on PSP.

Ok, let me know what you think of the level. Please play it a couple of times before making your judgement - since it might take a few times to get a system down.

Alright, well - I decided to go ahead and publish my level.

Here's some info on how to play (these instructions are in the level, but I figured I'd post them here as well).

"Puzzle Wheel Survival Challenge - "Hangin' Around" "

A survival challenge means that things keep getting harder till you die - the object is not to beat the level but to get the highscore. (Like old arcade games).

As the wheel turns, you'll jump from peg to peg, trying to stay low - otherwise, you'll end up in the gas cloud.

White pegs are harmless and good to swing on - Red pegs release dangers, use them as a last resort/not at all and get the heck out of the way!

Blue pegs release score bubbles when grabbed. Of course, you'll have to go get them as they tumble. . . or is there a better way. . . .?

You'll have to find out what gold colored items do . . .

I have the score to beat with over 6,000+ points (the only other person to play it has gotten 900+ for their best score).

Expect the level to become harder and more disorienting as time goes on.

Nice level. I played it probably 8-10 times, because I was adamant about getting into 2nd place. My first time through I got a 750, and then I couldn't top that for a while. I finally got 1,111, and settled on that for the night.

I like that the level seems pretty straight-forward and simple, but it's still challenging to get anything more than 400 points. Or it was for me.

The only thing I didn't like was the forced cutscenes in the beginning. It was fine and unnoticeable the first time around, but after hitting "Replay Level" a bunch of times, it became somewhat annoying to not be able to just run right back over to the wheel, because I'd have to Circle out of the cutscenes. Nothing huge though.

Actually, you're in 3rd place now - grasp got 3,000+ points - but that's the guy who played Puzzle Wheels countless times to get the highscore - dude's an animal!

I tried my luck again - only got 2,000+ points - not sure how I got that 6,000+ - what luck that I had that run when trying to set the highscore!

As for the cutscenes - that seems to be the main issue from feedback I've received. I would love it if the cutscenes could be disabled. . .

Someone suggested making them optional - as in letting the player go left if they wanted instructions - problem is, I know nobody would check it out. I had to make it cutscenes to ensure people at least got a chance to read the directions - and didn't go get killed 2 seconds in by grabbing a RED rod and giving the level a bad rating.

But I know what you mean - I played my level a hundred times and for some reason, hitting that circle (even though it takes a half second) gets annoying.

I'm glad that you didn't find the gameplay confusing. Thanks for checking it out.

(Btw, did the level start to change - lights begin to turn on and off, strobe lights and music changes, etc.? - wondering how far you got into the effects since the longer you live, the more that changes.)

Since my best score was a puny 1,100, I didn't last very long, but it was long enough to notice some lights changing.

I did 3500 this morning on your challenge cymbol!!! I should be second! but the board didn't want to load!!!! anyway like you said yourself the idea of a different direction for the instruction would be really nice. Or maybe a secret bypass road that most of people won't notice.

As for the light changing, I was so concentrated to avoid the gazz I didn't notice anything else... :P

Aaagh! That sucks if you didn't get credit for it!

I'll have to think about how to change that (cutscenes) - I NEED people to read the instructions - but I know it gets annoying since the level really requires multiple plays.

Most people seem to do better after they play a few times and realize the lights change RED as they get closer to the gas.

Haha, I can't believe you didn't notice all the lights on the pegs randomly turning on and off (to be distracting). Guess it wasn't distracting enough! (Off course, if you live long enough - you'll definitely notice when the music changes and the strobe lights start up! )

Thanks for giving it a try.

(Btw, did you fix your level - oh, and thanks for the tips on The Great Race!)

Thanks a lot buddy, I appreciate you giving it a try later. Yeah, I expect a lot of games to be empty for a few weeks after this Friday. . .

Yes my level is fixed now (at least the jet pack part and the slow step elevator). So you can try it again or anybody else. All comments would be appreciated!

I'm starting to have some ideas for another level, but after working to fix "Baby wants milk", it got me frustrated again with the glue bug... I need to decompress a bit before starting a new one (and also be sure that my first one is bug free!) and I need to come by a concept that don't need glue!

Advanced searching tips:

Quote:
Just a quick update let everyone know that LBP now has some new search features.

In addition to the Author search (put @ in front of the search word to search by Author) there are now some more new search methods.

Search for words in Level Title only

To search for words in Level Title only, put a $ in front of the search word . For example, to search for levels with ‘Frenzy’ in the Level Title type:

$frenzy

Search for exact words

To search for exact words, use single quotes, like this:

‘frenzy’

This will search ONLY for the word ‘frenzy’ in Level Title and Level Description (so no fonzy, friendzy, fencey, frendy, frondy, fwendy, etc, etc).

Search for phrases only

To search by phrase, say, ‘The Mighty Tower of Ultimate Doom’, use double quotes, like this:

“The Mighty Tower of Ultimate Doom”

This will search only the Level Title & Level Description for exactly that phrase.

Combine Searches

If that’s not enough for you (whaa…!?) you can even combine searches! What do I mean? Well, say I wanted to search for ‘Marks Multi Mega Marvellous Mashing Machine’ by ‘MarkLovesMashing9988′, I’d type in:

$Mashing @MarkLovesMashing9988

Which will search for all levels with ‘Mashing’ in the Level Title that also has ‘MarkLovesMashing9988′ as the author.

Or I could type:

‘Mashing Machine’ @MarkLovesMashing

Or.

$Mashing @Mashing

I could go on, but I think you get the idea?

On top of all that, the default search is now less fuzzy. So, what you search for will show less results but be of a higher quality. Basically, it’ll find less but what it finds will be a more exact match to your search word.

Phew! I’m all excited again about searching for those hidden gems. Aha!, I can even search for ‘MmSC’ without getting lots of ‘Misc’ levels (was that a subtle hint that there’s going to be another Mm Picks Survival Challenge Edition soon? hmmm, maybe…)

Remember, if you find any gems out there, let me know!

Anyways, Enjoy!
In the future Mm should make these more accessible using an advanced search page.

Haha, so that's how they get people to buy the nariko even if you pre-ordered and got a code. By packing another HS character with the Nariko (and not selling both separately, which I don't think they are aiming for) it will force true die hard HS fans to buy the nariko again but now at a upped price as this "pack" contains two characters. Clever and smart move MM (if this is what you plan to do), you've learned from trying to resell the kratos pack. Good buisness move. Anyway, only the Helghast interests me (although they will probably sell that with the other character as well in a K2 pack at an upped price).
