Everyone playing the level will be entitled to the items that any player acquires during level play. This can become tricky since most people already have all items, so they will just want to finish the level and not wait for new players who are trying to gain all prize bubbles. If you have a headset, it helps because you can then tell them that you need some of the prize bubbles on the level.

And, some of the stickers are only attainable via 3 or 4 players working together (where you see the x3 and x4 sackboy signs).

LMAO... Somehow I knew that this would be the result of my post!!!

I'm happy to add you. However, I must warn that I keep some rather strange hours and haven't been playing LBP all too much lately. But, I do love helping others with the prize bubbles.

P.S. - Sent you a PNS () Friends Request...

Maybe it's another CHEESE update? I haven't heard any announcements about it though. They usually make one before releasing something THIS big!

Wow... I haven't played this in a long time apparently! I had THREE updates waiting for me upon loading the disc!!!

We piled our accolades atop LittleBigPlanet back in January -- now, nearly six months later, the Develop Industry Excellence Awards are doing the same thing. LBP, and the minds at Media Molecule who created it, won all five awards they were nominated for: Best New Studio, Best Independent Developer, Best New IP and Achievements in Visual Arts and Technical Innovation.

Other big winners included Rockstar (both Leeds and North took home one award each) and Phil Harrison, who was bestowed the Development Legend Award, and finally given the Shinest Head in Europe Award. A full list of the winners is listed after the break.
Mm's going to need a bigger studio soon to house all their awards!

BRIGHTON, UK--Little Big Planet was one of last year's breakout successes, with a PSP version due out later this year and a sequel already rumored. In particular, the PlayStation 3-exclusive original was praised for its art style, and this was the topic that developer Media Molecule chose to explore in its Brighton Develop session today. Cofounders Kareem Ettouney and Mark Healey took to the stage to deliver the presentation and in the process revealed some previously unknown info about the game's development.

Players of Little Big Planet will remember the themes of the original game, which included Indian Temples, British Gardens, and Mexican Deserts. However, according to Healey, one theme--based around the seaside--was cut because it was deemed the weakest. That said, he went on to hint that the seaside theme may eventually appear sometime in the future.

Healey also revealed that the Media Molecule team was heavily split between giving Little Big Planet 3D or 2D graphics. (Eventually, 3D won out.) The developer's staff also originally wanted to make the game devoid of menu screens. Said Healey, "We initially didn't want a HUD. We put a lot of time and effort making these physical things in the world, like a paintbrush. But it was really annoying and too time consuming [to fetch them]."

The team also spoke about the game's massive community support and how pleased they were that more than 1 million levels are now available online. Healey showed the famous Little Big Computer calculator level (see below), demonstrating the incredible mechanics behind it, and joked, "I wouldn't like to meet that person." He also stated, "Forums can make you want to commit suicide sometimes, but we have a lot of things in the pipeline that will make the community happy."

For more on Little Big Planet, check out the GameSpot's video review of the original game. For a look at the portable version, read the preview of the PSP edition from last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

I have convinced my friend to buy LBP

Anyone have any good youtube links to show him custom made levels? I was looking for one that was called, I believe, "The Eliminator" (a copy from the tv show Gladiators). Has this been taken down due to copyright or something? I though it was exceptional!! I also showed him a Mirror's Edge level.. Anyone recommend anything else?

Thanks!

Just one of the five develop awards.

Media Molecule
  • Best Independent Developer
  • Best New Studio
LittleBigPlanet
  • Artistic Achievement
  • Technical Innovation
  • Best New IP
We went to Develop and came back with some awards!

Can't wait for some cheese and level DLC news so I can update the thread title with something not costume, sticker or award-related!
