I've played for a while last night and I can tell you that, it's not a system seller, it's more of a huge hype, the game is not bad is good I enjoyed it. The level of creativeness is huge and tools you get are great, the gameplay is great I really enjoyed playing the levels through, I seriously doubt people would look at a PS3 and say "ooh LBP I should get a PS3 just to get it" nah I think MGS4 was system seller, LBP is not, I've been waiting for it for a while and it's not letting me down, but I dont see this changing the sales of PS3. There's my honest opinion.

From MM's website:

Quote:
Remember, this is a *beta* to test our servers, NOT a demo. Can’t stress that enough! So, what’s is so cool for us to see, is that you haven’t even seen the amazing story mode yet, which serves as inspiration, and yet the levels going up are already interesting."

Based on the beta, what score would you give LBP if you were reviewing it?

I have been playing for basically a day now and this is what I have to say.

First and foremost remember that this is just a beta; this build is nothing compared to what we will see on Oct 21. Having said that, I already haven't been able to put it down since yesterday. Its just a lot of fun; an experience like no other video game has given me. Making your own levels is glorious, and we only have (I'm guessing) a small portion of the items available to use right now. There are hundreds of levels out there already, and many of them are very very creative. You play other people's levels, remember what you like, and incorporate them into your own. There are so many cool things that can be done with the stuff they give you; many of the best stuff I've found I created by accident and it turned out to work amazingly.

Right now however, the levels are a tad bit repetitive because there's just not enough items available to make completely different things.

Online play is great (when it doesn't glitch out). You can take on your friends, or just meet up with random people. But the more friends you have that play the game the more fun this title will be. I'm hoping eventually they will add support for bluetooth headsets so you can talk smack.

The one player mode has potential, but is the driest part of the beta. It's short, easy, and very one dimensional (i.e. there isn't that much variety). I'm sure the full version will be MUCH MUCH better in this aspect.

In short, this is a great beta, and if the full version game is as better than the beta as it should be, then it will for sure live up to the hype. I can't compare it to any other game because its not like any other game. Will it sell systems? I don't know, but it sure is a ton of fun.

It's not the full game or demo, but it's fun nonetheless I'd give it a 8.5. I expect more from the full version when it gets released in October.

Don't think so. Depending on which part of Portugal they're in, it's either almost 8pm or 9pm, meaning that was posted about an hour ago, or they have a time machine.

So far, I'd give it an 8.3. The possibilities are just endless with the creation. Hell, I even came across a level that was the game equivilant of this:

no mario levels yet, but i truly can see this game as having limitless possibilities as long as the devs support it. if they continually release patches that increase the amount of items and stuff, based on whats desired, it could be crazy.

for example, they have soccer balls as an item but i haven't figured out a way to actually incorporate them (although i saw someone make a giant cherry pit that you had to swim through, i could do something like that ). what i'm hoping for is to somehow make the people in my level have to roll or kick or launch the soccer ball into a net.
