Can Sackboy breathe under water?
Sackboy can hold his breath for 30 seconds, after which time his air will run out and he will pop! You can replenish Sackboy’s air supply by breathing special bubbles from a Bubble Machine, and this will reset the timer to 30 seconds.
There is a Scuba Gear power up that can be placed in a level that will allow Sackboy to breath under water indefinitely.

I have a sacboy character saving question. There are 2 spots for them. You have the "Outfits" and then "My Costumes". Why do only certain downloaded outfits go into the "Outfits" and then the rest get lost in "My Costumes"?

My Costumes is any saved combination of clothing you have made.

Outfits are a full set of clothing designed by Media Molecule to go together. This was added in a later patch so only outfits since that seem to appear. I don't know if re-downloading old pre-patch sets of clothing adds an outfit or if an outfit has to be specifically flagged by Mm.

That's a good question. If I have time before I go home for the holidays, I'll have to try that by re-downloading and/or re-activating all of my purchased content within the game's store listing of items.

The 1.23 update's out, ready for tomorrow's WATER + PotC release!

Seems to be a couple other upgrades slipped in too:
  • Pod Decoration can now be saved, named and hearted countless times with the new Popit icon.
  • InfoMoon > Me > My Levels > {Profile} > (bell icon) My Queue added but ghosted/unusable
Not sure when or if these changed:
  • Music Player (now top option in Settings for quicker access)
  • Display Settings > Show HUD in Create Mode

That's great news!
I can't tell you how many times my pod has been ruined by a careless friend who has tried stickering his or her costume and stickered my pod instead, then accidently removed my pod's background color instead of their sticker.

The (bell icon) My Queue feature could be linked to this:

Web-based level-sharing portal coming to LittleBigPlanet
Details on distributing fan-made apps, a new ongoing beta test, and the PSP version of LBP.

During an interview at the Nordic Game Conference in Malmö, Sweden this week, Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans revealed to 1UP that the company will soon launch a web-based portal for LittleBigPlanet to allow players to advertise their created levels to other users and queue up downloads and get them ready for the next time they turn the game on.

According to Evans, the service will provide each created level in the game with a custom URL that players can send to friends or even advertise online -- opening up new, direct ways to publicize original stages. Evans explains, "Rather than going on forums and saying, 'Please search for my level,' you can just say, 'Here's a link.'" When other users go to that page's link, they'll be given the option to queue the download of the LBP level, which will appear in the game the next time they turn on their PlayStation 3.

In addition to things like leaderboards, photos, and comments, the portal will also offer an application programming interface (API), which can be used to create custom LBP-related applications. Evans cites examples of other APIs for websites like Flickr and Google Maps, and says it will be possible to use the LBP API to create a Google Maps page that details the locations of levels on Craft Earth. Evans says the portal and API are currently being beta tested, with a launch coming "as soon as possible."

Also in the works for LBP is a new, ongoing beta test, which will give some users the ability to test new features for the game before they hit the retail version. Like last fall's beta extravaganza, signups for the new beta test will likely be given away via various websites and the official PlayStation blog, but Evans notes that it will probably start off as a much smaller, feedback-focused process. "This time it's less about testing the online and more about giving the vocal minority a chance to see what's coming and to give us their feedback."

During the course of our interview, Evans also talks about the upcoming PSP version of LBP, teases upcoming downloadable content for PS3, and curiously refers to LBP as "the first game." For the whole scoop on what's next for Sackboys around the world, be sure to read the entire transcript of our entire interview with Alex Evans, coming soon.

Love the idea of being able to save my pod decorations. I've been wanting to change my set up, but didn't want to loose it.

I really wish these guys had thought of these things just a bit earlier - I lost tons of stuff when my PS3 crashed. Better late than never, though.

Yeah, saving your Pod layout - very cool.

Screw them down so they'll be tight.

Otherwise you could lose them.
