No that was number 3. I had an idea going for that one then it just changed then I ran out of room. That level is ok. Just to short. SNow Trek 2 is the one I put a lot of time in.

Nice to see that the first premium avatars are from LBP. While I'm not crazy about having to purchase avatars, I ended up buying all the LBP ones.

Anyway, I enjoyed the new POTC levels.

Soooo, is anybody else building a level these days - with or without water? No one seems to create much anymore.

My buddy and I are probably going to take another crack at it now that water is out. I have more fun building with a friend than by myself.

It won't be CYMBOL quality though

On a side note, I was left wanting more from the water pack. I had high hopes for it and while the level and quality are top notch (expected from MM), the metal gear pack added a lot more to to the game and was more fun.

Aw shucks, , haha.

I know what you mean about wanting more - from a creator stand point, the water is interesting and a definite advantage to have (sooooo much better then using glass or blue gas as stand in's, etc). But I was hoping I could put it in things and then have that tip and pour out - not just raise and lower the water level and change its' color a bit.

It has been interesting to work with. Working with water creates a lot of issues to work with/through. If you build something on the lower level - then raise the water level, anything that floats - floats. Also, if you lower the water level, anything the was floating, falls, etc. And if you hit rewind while editing, your water goes back to the original water depth the level starts at.

It can be frustrating to work with and can make beta testing very difficult.

I was thinking about doing an online create with someone, but after getting back into building levels, I forgot how time consuming it is - not to mention, all the constant beta testing (I try to test the hell out of my levels), and I'm very picky about lighting effects etc.

I think I spent over 4 hours just so the player could pull a lever and have my Rotar-Flotars (my rotating floaters) come up out of the water for their reveal. The player sees it for 4 seconds, but I really wanted that effect - not sure if any online create buddy would have the patience to watch me place and alter a few hundred lights either.

Well, please let us know when you're ready for some beta testers, I'm going to need some soon. I always worry when I get beta testers to try - you never know if the whole level will simply fall apart. My biggest worry is that it is a competitive race - I'm not sure if the camera will cooperate. We'll see.

I'm fighting the thermometer again and wondering how I'll be able to finish my level. I have this love-hate relationship with LBP, I find creating in LBP incredibly frustrating, yet I keep coming back.

Really? The water and the new materials gave me a little push to make something new, even if it was just to see how everything looked and worked.

I'm going to do a water level next. I know what I want to do, but I want to finish this other level first.

How long till your latest one is done?

I'm almost done with The Great Race II. Had to cram the last part together at the end cause literally ran out of room (not the thermometer, but the actual space) - although the thermometer is also creeping up. It's always nice when you get so close to finishing the level and the end is in sight. Building these things can be draining.

I'm glad to almost be done - but I'm dreading the beta testing with a buddy - so many things can go wrong. Obviously, I've tested it myself countless times, but no telling how things will work with more than one person.

By the way, I made some room on my friend's - send me a friend request if you get the chance.

The Sackies – Level of the Year

Choose your LittleBigPlanet community level of the year.

I've got some levels to play. How much easier it'll be when you can queue up levels from the website!

I don't know. I usually only build on the weekends. I don't plan on doing anything this weekend, so I might be able to get more done.

Pretty sure you just view your levels - then scroll through by pressing R1 - I know they just changed some sort options with the last update. Haven't looked at it recently, but it should basically be the same.

You should be able to sort it by "Hearted Levels".

Anybody still playing this that can help beta test my new level tonight?

My thermometer is right on the edge with no room to do much, but because the level is a 3 player competitive race - it is difficult to beta test since I need to see what issues arise when 3 players are going at the same time.

This is "The Great Race II - Under the Sea" - features 2 timed races - underwater swimming, boat racing, jetpacks, platforming and rounds out with a Score Bubble Challenge (Where players use specialized Switch Triggers to hit moving objects to gain points).

At the end, the 3 players go to the score board to see who the top player is and see who won The Great Race.

Beta testing? With you? With no room to do much? That depends...you won't drown my sackbunny if I have a thermometer-busting suggestion, will you?

I can make no promises. . . however, if that occurs, my sackangel with resurrect you afterwards.

This level is hard to beta test - I know of some issues that simply can't be fixed already (kind of like that Powerball that randomly killed people in PWII).

This one doesn't have any strange kills - but I think because the Thermo is so high that I get little glitches (the paint ball ran out of bullets after 5 shots - I went back into create mode and BOTH had infinite bullets). And I've had some other strange glitches and random breaking.

You know me and LBP, we fight all the way to the end, everytime. Stupid thermometer!
