This level is hard to beta test - I know of some issues that simply can't be fixed already (kind of like that Powerball that randomly killed people in PWII).

This one doesn't have any strange kills - but I think because the Thermo is so high that I get little glitches (the paint ball ran out of bullets after 5 shots - I went back into create mode and BOTH had infinite bullets). And I've had some other strange glitches and random breaking.

You know me and LBP, we fight all the way to the end, everytime. Stupid thermometer!
I would if I was home. I work nights 4pm-2am tue-fri. I'm free all weekend.

Ok, I'll try and catch you this weekend - going to visit family tomorrow/Sat - but I'll be back Sat night.

I'm getting incredibly frustrated - things keep randomly breaking - I'll be adding stickers here and there - fine tuning some lighting - and then I'll hear something break. I have to go all over the level and try to figure out what it is.

This game makes me more than other game I have ever played.

I love the challenge of building levels, but yours are a lot more complex then any of mine.

The water is very smooth. It flows a lot better than I expected. POTC levels are very fun too.

ARGHHH!! I'm 98% on "Get a Grip"

Stickered all the stars, that I'm aware of. Even the one above the clouds.

I got 100% on the 1st stage, not hard I realize, and 98% on the Get A Grip. I'm trying to 100% the three main stages before I go on to the next "world" or the bonus stages.

I'm missing the item between the "Leaf doodle" and the "Naughts & Crosses" (the tic tac toe board)

Also I'm missing the two "Get all Gifts" ones.

EDIT: WOO HOO!!!! 100%. Now to get a perfect for #3: Skate to Victory is: 54% (without stickers applied).

TRY 2: 79% but now I have the shield sticker! Oops, that wasn't the shield..lol.

Well I'm done for the evening, but the tutorial thing is making me mad. I got to the one where you have to place the sound thing on the ape and make it do a chimp sound. I did it perfectly and it won't give me the "completion" thing.

I tweaked the sound BEFORE I put it on the ape, and then I did it again AFTER I put it on the ape (separate times after restarting the level) and it still won't give me the all finished sign.

EDIT: GOT IT!

Hey Groo - many levels require you to come back later with Stickers you get in later levels for 100%.

Good luck with creating a level - it's actually what I do to "play" the game (don't play levels much) - but it can be incredibly frustrating as well (when making a complex level). But rewarding too.

I got one of my friends to finally open his GotY edition and started him on his way. I forgot how much fun the game could be.

Be a LittleBigPlanet “Game Changer” and Earn up to $50,000
Posted by Mark Valledor // Marketing Manager, SCEA

Calling all LittleBigPlanet CREATORS! Now’s your chance to create fun levels, better the community and be awarded some money – all at the same time.

A few weeks ago, we teamed up with the MacArthur Foundation, HASTAC, and The Entertainment Software Association with support from our nation’s capital, to host a unique competition to help the youth of America learn more about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Now we’re back with more details and looking for members of the LittleBigPlanet community to step up and be a “Game Changer.” If you’re interested, read on and you can earn up to $50,000 and help teach LittleBigPlanet gamers a thing or two about STEM while they play your level(s).

You can head on over to the updated Game Changers Competition details page to get the full download, but in a nutshell:
  • The MacArthur foundation will be accepting submissions for levels / proposals combining an engaging gaming experience with principals of STEM learning.
  • There are 10 different categories, where winning submissions can earn up to $50,000 in production / development grants.
  • Judging will be based on the different categories combined with the potential of level design, with consideration to quality, integration of learning content, playability, fun, aesthetics and more.

The competition registration site will open for submissions on January 15, so make sure to start the thinking about your level designs and ways to integrate the fun of LittleBigPlanet with science, technology, engineering, and math.

Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly what they are wanting here - just proposals as of now? They want a level that helps kids understand physics - what kind of physics, to what level? Wish they included more links to understand exactly what they would like to see.

I published my level "The Aquarium" last night. If anyone has time, give it a try and let me know what you think.

And thanks Cym for testing it out for me.

Was looking at my trophies that I need to get. I saw that I needed to ace all the levels. I thought I did that. I didn't know you had to ace all the mini levels too.

And for only shooting 125 paintballs in "The Mission". That one sucks. I can get to the end without shooting any, but trying to shoot that tank/car thing. Ugg I suck...

Then I need all the hearted ones. No one likes my levels...

ok. I just got home and settled into LBP POTC... My question is... Can you beat the tutorial levels? The sack face is silver, and there's no scoreboard that I can find. IDK if i'm missing something or i'm supposed to quit out.

LMK. lol...

Also I can't find my water in the tools menu. Do I need to finish the tutorials? if so how? lol. I feel lame.

You need to do the water tutorials then it will appear in your tool kit (like the global emitter).

It would be nice if they simply added it to everyone's inventory and led you to the tutorial the first time you selected it.

There are some items I never even new were released. If only they would update their "updates" page when they release new things. I think the "updates/new" page still talks about making Survival Challenges - which was posted at least 6 months ago or more.

ACE what mini-levels? You don't have to get the trophies for the purchased packs (Metal Gear, etc.)

Did you try the publishing trick I wrote about pages back in this thread?

Maybe try and make a really well done survival level, if good enough, people will die - then go right back in and try it again. Easy way to rack up plays.

Obviously, it has to be decent - bad comment tags and poor star ratings can't be overcome. (I don't remember your levels having either of those.)

If you have an idea for something and want someone to critique your new level, let me know - we can do that with co-create now.

If you're willing, I might want to do a co-create and get some pointers. I am trying to get the create trophies, and need some help with a few things I'm trying to do. If I see you on I'll shoot you a message.

Sounds good.

Just released my latest level, "The Great Race II - Under the Sea" - thanks to Stephie and Petra and Hellmonkey69 for beta testing.

I'm tinkering with a new level, "The Great Race 3D - Race to the Future" (using the 3D glitch in LBP - also known as the 50 layer glitch.)

I'll tell you right now - working with water and/or the 3D is very difficult. But neither are needed for a great level. I'm just trying something different.

The Great Race II is doing alright - no "bad" tags and rated 4 stars with about 40 plays so far. Heck, I even had 10 extra plays on The Great Race one - and people started playing some of my other levels too! (Even my first level - which is decent for a first level - but kind of funny now. )

Do you already have an idea in mind for a level?
