Yeah, well - it's my own fault. I operate under the mentality that, "A level is never finished - it only runs out of room!"

This new 3D level is pretty big, but may take less time to go through - most of my levels seem to take about 20 minutes or so to complete.

Haven't got a chance you play your new level (or Chris's) - I re-designed my vehicles last night for the end race and after some tweaks, was able to get it all working properly.

Probably another hour of tweaks here and there - and I just might be done. . . but there is still a sliver of space left on the thermometer, soooo. . .

I'm out of thermometer space, so I've started seeing what I can trim or delete so I can fine tune other sections.

I published last night - it got 7 plays and 1 heart with a 4 star rating - but not one person finished it. It wasn't 100% done (my final tweaks), but I wanted to get a feel for how it would do. I've since deleted it from the published levels.

In general, I think this level could do well - just wish I could publish it. I'm going away on business for the week and want to be here for the 7 days it has to get "stuck" on the cool pages. So, looks like I'll be publishing it in a week - which leaves me sitting around tinkering with it for a while - and I can never leave "well enough" alone.

Hoping to publish this level before the onslaught of "3D" levels.

Hopefully, it will do well.

If anyone sees me on LBP and wouldn't mind beta-testing, hit me up.

I've been a while out of this game, but I'll try to put it back in to see your new levels. I had very good time in your wheels ones

I think you have the highscore on most of my levels.

My last level was "The Great Race II - Under the Sea" - I'll be releasing my Great Race 3D level in about a week.

Yeah, - not "real" 3D like the kind where you see a movie and the image comes off the screen - LBP has a glitch where you can use more layers then the regular 3 the game initially provided.

Look at the screenshot above for an idea of what I'm talking about.

Wow, I've went to the previous page, and the 3d glitch is very cool! I hope MM fixe it in a way to officially keep it

I still have you on my list, Cymbol. So, next time I see you on in LBP I'll try to break away and stick it in and give the level a run through.

Just message me if you see me on just doinkin' off or something (sometimes i'm not there but left the thing on for some reason though).

I can't believe the effort you continue to put into the level creation. Your skills have really matured as well.

Thanks buddy.

I actually just found out that I'm not going on my business trip this coming up week - soooo, that means I'll probably publish late this weekend.

Every beta test helps - it's an extensive level so I keep finding little tiny things that need tweaking (a camera angle, something not glued down, etc.)

Thanks to everyone that has beta tested so far. Been a BIG help.

I'll try it soon as I can.

I was just actually thinking of a Survival Challenge. . . in 3D, of course!

Hell, it'd be nice to be able to create a level that didn't take a month! To be fair, though, the only reason the 3D level took so long was because of all the beta-testing I had to do. I have a MUCH better handle on working with 3D now.

I may make the Survival 3D level - but I think I need a break first.

I like the look of useing the 3D, but it a pain in the butt to work with. I might and see if I can come up with another something this weekend.

Have you guys tried my survival challenge level yet? I made it in less then a day. Theres not much to it. I think it's called:

Ghost Ship Pirate bomb Survival

Yeah, it's definitely challenging - I learned a lot making this level - so if I ever do make another level with it, it will be much easier for me now that I've learned some tricks through trial and error.

I decided to publish it briefly last night - just to see what the initial reaction/rating would be - it started out at 5 stars - went to 3 and then went to 4. About 20 people played it. (after publishing 3-4 times).

Kind of disappointed. I was surprised to see it go to 3 stars. I don't have the best levels ever made or anything - but I think it's better than 3 stars. I have since taken it off - and will publish Sunday evening or Monday. Wouldn't mind another beta test or two, first.

No - didn't have much time to do anything except hit "publish" in-between commercials - wife and I are trying to catch up on shows.

I'll play your's and hellmonkey's today.

Cymbol,

Thanks for the tour of your puzzle wheel challenge. I'm going to give what you showed me a try in my level to make it steadly get harder. It makes sence. Behind the scenes is insane for that level

The 3D level looks aweseom. First time through I was a little confused, but now that I know what to do. I'm sure it will be easier. Very cool though. I'll heart it for sure.

Thanks again for the tips.

Sure, no problem - glad it maybe provided you with some ideas. I'd hook up your emitters - and set a trigger on a rod that would trigger harder obstactles as time went on - more bombs - knives dropping, etc. Up to you, sorry I couldn't be more helpful - I've never made a bomb survival level and haven't played many either.

Thanks, based on your play-through and Proteus's - I've made some tweaks and provided a few more hints in some sections. I think it should be good to go now.

I'm going to delete the level and republish Monday - it has 79 plays with 4 Stars, but I want to try and get it stuck on the Cool Pages, so Monday through Sunday is the best time-frame to get the most plays (since you only have 7 days for it to get stuck).

Thanks for playing it and beta testing.

I posted a big thing on the best way to get your level stuck on the cool pages. Getting "stuck" on the cool pages is the hard part. Getting stuck is when your level doesn't disappear and becomes one of those big patches and starts moving up the pages.

To get on the cool pages for about 60 seconds or so - you just have to add a new material, any where in your level (place a block of dark matter somewhere out of the way) - this causes your level to "change size". LBP sees this as a "new level" and posts it on the cool pages. Whether you're within your 7 day window or not, you should always add or delete a material in your level before publishing, otherwise, there is a good chance it won't show up on the cool pages since it is "not new".

Sorry if this is confusing.
