How do you back up the game save now? Since my main PS3 went down, I installed LBP on my other PS3 and had to go through the tutorial again. Now, I want to back up that progress so if something should happen, I don't have to do the tutorial again. Unfortunately, I had been backing up LBP to a thumbdrive when my other system was still working, thinking I was backing things up but all it did was backup the profile. I seem to remember a warning about a change to the backup procedure during one of the updates but I can't recall what I'm supposed to do.

This is from 30 Nov 09 - not sure if it is the latest and greatest.

I had to go through all my stuff too when my 60 gig died and I didn't have a backup. It sucked, cause I mainly play the game to create and had to get all my materials and stuff back.

Anyway, I am almost done with my level - "Part 1" anyway. But I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to be done tonight!

I'm also kinda sorta almost done. Like 1/4 of the way through. It's pretty long but I don't think it's 'newbie' material. :x

Does anyone have any idea how to make something move once with a piston? O_O; If that makes sense. Like, I have a two-way switch and when someone pulls it it makes a door go up and stay up. Mine always go up down up down, lol. ): It doesnt have to be a two way switch if you know how to do it with another one. Thanks

Well, LBP glitched my level again. I don't know why I keep returning.

I was DONE with my level. I invited someone to test the final version - and, of course, it's glitched.

While I was creating the thermometer topped out when I tried to place a bomb - Ok - rewind and create something else instead - ite seems when my thermo busted it glitched my level and now when played, some things don't work properly, or something don't even show up (a portal at the end of the level is missing in Play mode - but still appears in Create mode).

I'm too tired to think of what to say at this point. I should be going to sleep having just finally published my level - instead, I'm thinking of where to restart - and whether to even bother.

So close, now, so far - it almost doesn't even seem worth it to figure out a way to get it to work. MM's glitches are now costing me countless more hours if I want to try and fix this -if it's even possible.

Very close to giving up - wish you guys could have seen the final version.

This is bad. And this is why I wonder why they are working on a sequel instead of fixing this one? Maybe its easier for them to start on another game?

I understand why it got Game of the Year - but it's times like these when I think the only way they deserve that trophy is if they are beaten with it.

I can't even think of how many extra hours it would take to take an older version of the level and rebuild the second half again. It's sickening to think about.

I realise know when the glitch happened. I placed a bomb in the level and dropped it to see what effect it would have on the structures. It blew up and the level overheated. So, I rewound and the thermometer went back down. But for some reason - the burn marks were still there. I rewound again, but the burn marks wouldn't go away - the burn marks are actually just "stickers", so, I used the sticker remove tool and got rid of them and figured I was good to go - I didn't realize the level had just glitched and ruined everything, otherwise, I could have quit and "not saved" and only lost the last hour's work.

I'm going to try and "capture" the last half of my level - and paste in an older version and see if that will work.

If not - I'm looking at countless hours redoing the second half - it's tiring even thinking about getting started on it again. I'm completely bummed out.

I was done - now I'm beginning again.

I spent 4 hours last night trying to get it to work - no success.

I have one more thing I can try - if it doesn't work I'll have to re-create the last quarter of the level. Luckily, I had a save a while back - still a lot of work - but not horrible.

Hopefully you can get it to work Cymbol. What I saw so far was most impressive.

Thanks.

I think I may be able to get a "working" version - but it will be watered down quite a bit at the end. Hate to have to reduce my ending and take away effects and platforming areas.

But - I just can't imagine redoing the final quarter of the level again. I'm a bit too burnt out right now. Not sure. I'll decide tonight what I'm going to do.

Thanks for helping me beta test.

don't know if it was posted or not, but Sony acquired Media Molecule last month.

They better make the DLC for LBP1 compatible with LBP2 if they go through with that....Just saying...

I don't think I've ever seen DLC for a previous version of a game be useable in the next game. At least, none that I've ever played.

Although it would be nice - I highly doubt it and don't think it would be that unexpected if it were not.

Thanks to the couple of you who tried out my published level - although, that was just a beta-test publish (to see what the start ratings, tags and comments might be).

There were a few things I still had/have to tighten up - but overall, it is ready to publish. Will probably publish Monday/Tuesday night and post pictures here soon (although, they don't come out quite right due to the effects used and how LBP takes pictures - i.e. if something is black and white, it shows in color in the pic - and when toxic gas is use - it doesn't show in the pic - for those of you that have tried the level, you know I use the toxic gas a LOT - as a flowing background for the level.)

Hopefully, I'll publish tomorrow and a few of you can get my level off to a good start with a good star rating and tags (if you feel it deserves it).

I don't think the LBP situation is comparable to other games though.

The sheer number of costumes that have been released are WAY more than any other game, I'd say.

I'd prefer them just to keep patching the new one with levels and skins, then create a new one.

I'd get the new one anyway but still...

Yeah, the only ones I can think of are music games. That'd be cool though. Also, does anybody know if there is some sort of cross-compatibility between this version and the PSP version?
