rmartinez10 is my psn ID. I'd love to get in on some LBP sessions in the future. I'm out of commission for at least another day or two. I cut up my hand pretty good last night and it's bandaged up. I was about to play some Earthworm Jim HD but that's not really going to work out. lol

Thank you so much for the offer.

I do back up my data, now, regularly. This all happened almost 18 months ago and on an older PS3 that I have since fixed but it roars much too loudly to use.

I just use a flash drive and the Copy feature for mine. I don't have a large external drive to do a full back-up, but the Save Data Utility files alone are pretty small. I have about 50 Saved Data Utility files on a 2GB flash drive, with room to spare.

There are certain games (like Fat Princess) that don't allow copying though. Not having a large external drive myself, I've never tried the Backup Utility and/or Data Transfer Utility, so I'm not positive as to whether copy-protected data works with the Backup Utility process. I do know it works with Data Transfer Utility. However, the key word with that is "transfer" because it'll literally move everything from one PS3 to the other, instead of copying it.

I can comment on the Backup and Transfer Utilities as I've used them. The Backup Utility will save the copyright protected data but you can't transfer it to any other system. If the original system dies and you can't revive it, then that data is worthless.

The Transfer Utility is very handy and works well but it isn't 100%. Once you've transferred the data to a new system, you'll still need to go and re-download some updates and DLC for games in order for them to show up properly. I noticed this with games like LBP and Pain. There were others but the names escape me now. I also noticed that in the description, the data of the original system is supposed to be erased but that didn't happen for me. Everything remained intact after the Transfer process completed.

So I finally got the booty master trophy!! Also started the Metal Gear Levels:

Level 1: Aced
Level 2: Aced, & all Items
Level 3: Aced & all Items

Haven't completed level 4 or 5 yet. Did get the paint splurge trophy.

Who's up for a metal gear jam @ 9pm est (Xerios can join at 10)? Stephie, if you can make it that would be great since you probably have the most experience with these levels.

Where were you last night? Xerios helped me out, but we didn't do so hot.

We played several story levels and a couple of MGS levels and I'm still sitting at 97/95% on a lot of them. We just couldn't locate those last missing items.

As for tonight, really have no idea. I'll have to see how the night goes, if I see you on and can join, I will.

Last night I finished up the booty master trophy with some local friends. If you can make it on tonight, that's great but if not, don't worry about it.

Whats the point of backing stuff up if you can't put it on a new system? If your PS3 dies and you get a new one. Your screwed?

Pretty much. The Backup Utility is flawed. It's great for when you upgrade the HDD and that's about it. Backing up the game save data to a USB flash drive is great but only for games that do not have copyright protection.

Sony have been sending out questionnaires, which people believe influenced how PS+ was going to work out and one of the questions had to do with a "cloud" service for backing up game save data to a server. This question was asked again in a recent survey sent to Japanese PS3 owners. I really hope that the gamers voted for this to be an important feature. It would save us all a lot of grief.

I bought Marvel Pack 3, yesterday, but haven't played with them. One hand is out of commission for another day or two. You have no idea how long this is taking me to type. Ha ha ha ha

I republished my new level "ALIENS". Cymbol gave me some advice and I added a ton more stickers and accesories. It gives it a whole new look. If you played it before, thanks, and I hope you will check it out again. If you haven't played it. I hope you will.
