Hey everyone, I know I'm not a super regular poster on this forum yet but I was wondering if I could have my name added to the list to get a LBP beta code if anyone gets extras?? Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's the world we live in. Not much we can do with it. Trust me, if you're a parent, this isn't surprising, it just gets old that family entertainment becomes tainted.

Like sneaking in sexual references in Disney films etc.

There are so many avenues for adult entertainment, not sure why people love to introduce it into kids media so much.
See, I also completely agree with CYMBOL - it is unfortunate. I'm just not sure that LBP is much different than anything else in this world that isn't specifically targeted at children.

The big thing to remember here is that LBP is not a children's game. It may be a child friendly game, but it was not designed to be solely a children's game.

For something specifically targeted at children (Sesame Street, Curious George, Dora, etc...) I think it's perfectly reasonable to have a different set of expectations - but in any media, you can have something that is child friendly - and I think it's the parent's job to monitor those things to make sure they stay within the parent's expectations of what they child should see.

For example, Spider-man got revamped in a new comic called "Ultimate Spider-man" a few years back. While it's very kid friendly overall, it would be wrong to assume it is a kids book or 100% kid-safe. The book has peter parker back in high school and is soon going to tackle the idea of Peter & MJ having sex. While I'm pretty confidant that the writer is going to handle the story in a mature, appropriate way, I still think it's my job as a parent to read the issue ahead of my child to decide if they should read it and how I want to handle the subsequent discussion.

Any adult-targeted media that is also kid friendly always has the potential to dive into specific topics that a particular parent may find inappropriate.

I agree with CYMBOL though - it's unfortunate that parents will have to monitor, because that may potentially disuade parents from purchasing what looks to be an amazing game.

I think you're missing the point that I don't completely disagree with you.

But A) I don't expect a "perfectly" implemented way of censoring content, but some sort of effort would be nice.

B) I assume I'm younger than you (I could be wrong), so I went through school more recently -- in spectacular inner-city schools at that -- and I think you are overestimating what kids talk about, or what kids are exposed to.

Sure, a person has the potential to be worse than what you see in LBP, but at least on school grounds there are pressures and deterrents that help prevent that. The anonymity of the internet makes people do or say things they wouldn't say in the real world, which is why I think there is a greater potential for this sort of stuff in LBP than at school.

I agree that a lot of this is left up to parents monitoring their kids, but that doesn't mean nothing could or should be done to help.

heck..that video wasn't even graphic in the least, and there's multiple people here acting like their children's heads will explode (i realize i'm probably exaggerating a bit, but you get the point)

well anyways, i'm excited to get me a code tomorrow!
There's a simple solution lock the game and tell your kids that when you are home they'll play simple and easy after parents should be the authority at home right?

Anyways I've been working on creating a level, but damn this damn thing is difficult lol here is a photo of something I did for my clan that took quite a bit oh and good to all of you who are still trying to get a code!!
