I dunno it looks like a platformer with building assets... I hope this is successful I just worry to many people only like the idea of the game not the game itself.

I just hope yall are not setting yourself up for disappointment.

The theme song alone is worth the $60 investment

I feel behind.. I am not worthy...

I just with my ps3 was midi friendly, course I know midi's are not sound files, and are just a set of instructions, harp1, guitar3, drum2, harp1, guitar3, drum2

lol..

I do have serveral concerns for little big planet.

1. Dealing with players that leave to get a sandwich and never return.

2. Dealing with unskilled players who hold up a stage.

3. Making sure the game properly promotes team work allowing a strong
player to assist a unskilled player through difficult jump etc.

4. Managing content to prevent adult themes created with blocks and curse words to appear inside the stages to younger individuals.

5. Keeping it fresh as a platformer which seems to lack any form of weapons or means to attack I worry that the gameplay will be limited and regardless of the creativity of the community, that the game could age too quickly.

6. At one point you are building with building blocks preset, and inside a really fake 3d more or less 2d world there is a certain limitation to what can be created, there can only so many different kind of platforms, more or less this is the fear of repetitiveness.

The more I see the younger generation I realize the less patient they are then I am, some demanding instant gratification.

This instant gratification and able to be bored playing games, some getting bored to walking around attacking monsters..

Back when I played fairyland I spent hours chopping trees for wood to make into shields hoping to make a few dollar margin, as the axe would only last so long and had to be replaced and the axe was expensive.

I worked hard to make a marginal profit, hoping on good fortune to get me started, as I made my way in skill crafting masterlly created shield and eventually having to mine for metal, which required a few hour trek to a area that had medal...

Very expensive but I could make the most highest quality shields better then anything anyone could buy in a shop.

Sadly I had a bad habit of giving shields away, which would set back my margins on shields, I could never get the guts to actually try selling my shields to normal folk.

Anyway the concept of doing any of that, would literally bore the heck out of anyone 1/2 my age, I guess the feeling of accomplishment and the small additional of your gold meant nothing to them.. oh well.

I leave you on a note that I do hope this works out to Sony's advantage the more money in there coffers the better for us all.

Knight... I knight you. hehehe...

I do agree with you concerns and hope they are addressed. But I am blindly looking forward to this title. It seems like it has a lot of potential

"If you were expecting the LittleBigPlanet beta to hit your PS3 this summer, you might have to substitute that joy with something else. Sony is growing quite hesitant to pin a date down for the game's beta and has opted instead to focus on the September release date. It isn't that there won't be a beta, but a Sony spokesperson at SCEE said "we haven't yet made any announcements as to the dates of the LittleBigPlanet beta trials, and are not yet able to confirm a specific month." If it's not so much a beta but more of a trial, then we wouldn't expect it to hit until August. That's just a shot in the dark, though."

PlayStation Day 2008 gameplay footage from the fine chaps at Gamersyde.

edit: Love all the stylish new UI elements. Looks like there's PLAYSTATION Eye support in there too.

Nice wispy eye-candy on some of the pickups.

Youtube off-screen video of the trailer shown at PlayStation Day.

New music, thankfully and showing off all the new stuff added that gives it proper platform game rules. Tonnes of variety to the visual styling of backgrounds, stickers etc too.
