page 2 in africa, level "gaf - epic sledge mania v.90" is the best user made level i've played yet. it actually lasts more than 30 seconds!

Is that how long most of the user-made levels last?

Also, once you download a level and play - do you get to "keep" it? Or do you have to go find it again?

If you have to download it again - can you make a "favorites"?

all user made levels show up on a world map, and you just click which level you want to play.

and yes right now there are a lot of lame and short levels, but i can tell that will quickly change the longer the game is out and the more people get in. gaf seems to have a pretty nice collection of levels going so far.

In terms of additional content via DLC, will you be able to ship new mechanical elements or will it be just new visual assets?

We can do both. This isn’t a promise that we will, but we can actually embed logic into objects after the fact. The example I always give is that if people really want fruit machines working, we can do that. I always thought we’d end up with more intelligent objects in the game than we have: fruit machines, guitars, that kind of thing. It’s turned out that our level designers prefer the basics and build the fruit machine out of switches and levers, which is mental to me. But if the community wants fruit machines we can put new gameplay logic into the game on a rolling basis. So that might be new gameplay modes or something, maybe something that changes the scoring. Texture packs are easy to do and it’d be criminal not to do them, but it’s things like… There is some good stuff coming, but I’ve got to bite my tongue.

I'm trying to figure out a way to make the dissolving material reappear. I kind of want to make a sort of trap door activated by a switch, and the easiest way I found so far is to make the dissolving material disappear, but I want it to later reappear, so stuff can load back on top of it, to dump out again after hitting the switch.

Anyone know if a way to make some sort of door that opens/closes, or a way to make the dissolving stuff reappear after you make it dissolve?
