Help please. I dl'd it last night but I can't figure out how to do a damn thing. I eventually end up standing in front of a LBP title screen unable to go to the right and unable to do anything.

Can someone post the contents of this here - I heard it has to do with voting to keep all the levels made during the beta, but I can't read the details at work.

If that is what is, I think it would be a huge advantage for them to have all those user made levels upon release.
Right now the voting is 82/18 in favor of keeping the beta levels. So I expect that's the direction they'll go. It'd be a crime if they deleted dude's difference engine.

I played for about two hours last night... worked through the story mode levels a few times. I tried creating a level, but the game wouldn't progress after I made a pyramid of the Sackboy boxes. I received a bunch of objects, but after that I just sort of sat there. And attempts to leave the tutorial didn't do anything. I had to go into the XMB and quit.

I'll give it another go tonight.

So how the hell are people going to be able to find anything once there's a million levels available? I know there's going to be some sort of ranking system, but it still seems like it'll be chaos.

Has anyone besides me played the beta? The 'beta' is extremely short unless I am missing something.

you get to see the creators as you walk to the right, you get to customize your character a bit and then as I walk to the right some more the game just stops and I can't do anything else.

Am I missing something?

that is one of the more hilarious levels...

I just wish I wasn't a complete idiot when it comes to creating a level..

Yes, you're missing something. I believe there is a red button you stand on after that initial walk (remember, you can go forward and backward a few steps as well as sideways). That brings you to your "pod" and you start playing some beginning levels to learn how to jump, run, swing, etc. etc. etc.

Try it again, and look for something at the end, a platform to stand on etc.
You haven't even started the game!

I haven't even got that far - played the first two levels - then I let my kid play the first two levels - next, my wife is going to give it a shot - I have a college final this Friday - so my own time has been limited.

Do you get access to user made levels and creating after you complete a certain amount of the tutorial levels?

I've liked it, my kid loved it, and next I'm hoping my wife enjoys it. Could be the first "family" game (besides) rockband that we all equally enjoy.

I'll add you back to the list. Maybe pmac used the wrong code perhaps or got the code from a friend whom already used it. Hopefully its just a clerical error, but you'll be on the top.

EDIT: The list is now updated.

Thanks, much appreciated. I did a bit of googling and found other people having trouble with keys from USA today and a couple from IGN. My code didn't seem to be one of the wrong ones but either way i couldn't find a solution. Anyone else have any issues with getting an error of "code already used"?

Well so far you are the first person from here to report this issue so hopefully its a contained issue.

It is case sensitive... i got that at first as well but when i adjusted the capitalization i got the "this code has already been used the maximum number of times" thing. Perhaps try fooling with the capitalization and see if tha helps.

If that doesn't work I'll add him back to the list. So mcdaking84 let us know if that does/doesn't work for you.

Yeah, there is. But my fear is that once level "Ultimate Awesome Fun" gets to be popular we'll get dozens of copy-cat goobers who create "Ultimate Awesom3 Fun" and "Ultimate Awesome Fun!" and "Ultimate Fun Awesome" and "The REAL Ultimate Awesome Fun" thereby making the search function much less effective.

BTW, can anybody recommend some fun user-created levels?

i don't know officially but i'm guessing that when you enter in the code it will download one install package that includes all the levels and costumes that is supposed to come with that code.

So I hear that LBP is just sitting around in some stores now waiting for 10/21.

Be nice if they slipped onto shelves early.

Two more weeks.
