Seriously, not even available. I would pay the extra £50 to come Monday tbh. No sign or reply from Super-Fi as to when they are dispatching.

Great thanks!

Noted down some settings I need to change soon as I get it.

Anyone heard anything on delivery of theirs?

I did hear that they should be shipping to dealers later this coming week/following week. (Hopefully!)

Got word from one retailer that they expect stock on April 21st. So looks like a bit more of a wait

For those who prefer Amazon, it's now listed as usually dispatched within 2-4 weeks.

Another retailer reckons delivery to customers by Wednesday next week. Got a couple of orders out, will go with who ever gets dispatching out soonest. Although all sounds similar to April 21st

Called them yesterday and they believe 1-2 weeks, apparently Panasonic haven't given a solid date, NOR how much stock they're giving.

So I have ended up placing a few orders around in case my pre-order isn't high enough in the list.

Eddie was right in one respect: 4:2:0 was NOT part of the pre-HDMI 2.0 spec which is why all the standard Blu-ray players up until now (and even a UHD one! ) haven't offered it as an output option re: chroma subsampling.

Only with the advent of HDMI 2.0 was 4:2:0 finally added, and even then only for 50/60p, mindful as they are of the 10.2 Gb/s bandwidth limitation on HDMI 2.0 'lite' equipment.

^ And, unlike Samsung, Panasonic are aware of this limitation which is why on their player the subsampling for 4K50/60p can be set separately to 4:2:0, while the main 4K24 4:2:2/4:4:4 subsampling output remains in place for such content.

This will hopefully avoid the handshaking problems that some have experienced with the Samsung, which is kicking out a 4:4:4 4K60p signal on the menu/splash screens and potentially causing issues with 10.2 Gb/s HDMI chips that simply can't process the player's signal until someone actually plays a disc.

I think I just read on the Pan Man-ual that when in 4:2:0 HDR would go off? Hope not, that troubled me.

Yes, it says
Quote:
When connected to a device or terminal that supports 4K (50p/60p) 4:2:0 (8bit) and lower, this unit plays back 50p/60p content by applying Dynamic Range Conversion to its HDR signals to output them.
but that will only affect the displays which have the 10.2 Gb/s HDMI chipsets that max out at 4:2:0 4K50/60p, and as far as I know there aren't too many HDR-capable displays out there with the 'lite' HDMI 2.0.

And for the ones that do have that particular combo of tech it won't affect the vast majority of HDR UHD viewing anyway because most movies are made at 24fps.
