Trailer here
Since it's the Coen Bros, I'll see it. Reminds me of Falling Down in a strange way though. |

Overrated? I think they do a hell of a job. I don't know much about their new movie though.
They have won two Oscars for screenwriting (original screenplay for Fargo and adapted screenplay for No Country for Old Men). They received their first awards for Best Achievement in Directing and Best Picture for No Country for Old Men. Here is a list of my favorites. Burn After Reading was a good movie, just didn't quite make the cut. No Country for Old Men (2007) O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) The Big Lebowski (1998) Fargo (1996) Miller's Crossing (1990) Raising Arizona (1987) Edit: Comment on the trailer - looks great and it looks like an academic Falling Down ![]() Last edited by Deadset; 07-30-2009 at 08:02 PM. |

Same here. I enjoyed Fargo but didn't think it was amazing.. Big Lebowski is one of the worst movies I've ever watched. No Country for Old Men started off pretty good but then the 2nd half sucked.
Can't get the apple trailer to run at work but I loved Falling Down ![]() |

I forgot to mention Barton Fink. Really dark and twisted like a Lynch film....excellent.

(Synopsis of synopsis: Woody-style Jewish-family navel-gazing, with subtle Coen touch of "See, you can tell it's set in 1967, because the TV's are showing F-TROOP! ![]() ...If you're still expecting another of what you believed "Big Lebowski" to be for whatever personal reasons, crack open a window.) |

The Coen Brother are what they are. They're not big budget director's. They make movies that go to Sundance and other film festivals first. For the kind of director's that they are I don't think their overrated. Their mixed in with Spike Lee and Woody Alan not with Spielberg and Eastwood.
Oh I can't watch the trailer. It's telling me I need to download Quicktime. |

Looks great to me. Although Burn After Reading was a bit disappointing to me (I've only watched it once yet, so that might change) and there have been some weaker movies, the Coen brothers are still great directors. I've seen all their movies and not one was truly bad.

I love the Coens, I will watch anything they make. I think Burn After Reading is underrated. This looks like another quirky movie and should be fun.
