Is this movie even any good? I'm wondering why people are talking about it, or if its just the usual hype for anything on a 4K disc hype or a steelbook.

Just watched the first two scenes. As expected, a high level of detail and solid black levels. Some very good examples of the benefits of HDR as well. Some nice eye candy. Just a little strange to see Jason Stathan NOT in a car...

I’m not far into it, but I’d say it’s in the “dumb fun” category. I’ve rolled my eyes a few times already.

The movie is good fun.

A few people could have been cast better, other than that it has a lot of suspense, jump scares, explosions etc. Jason is excellent.

It's scarier than the new Haloween.

4k is the only way to go on this title.

This was a big letdown with horrible CG and weak actors. The China financing really shined through. Makes the Rocks San Andreas look like oscar material. That is 2h I won't get back. And I usually love these brainless popcorn effect movies but there is a limit. The Atmos audio was great though, always something. And as usual there is already a second on the way....

Just watched this and I quite enjoyed it. Of course it has some eye rolling moments but I thought the effects were good. My main gripe was that there are more people that either fall, get knocked or jump into the water than all the other shark/piranha movies combined.

I liked the nod to Jaws with having a dog named Pippin go into the water.

That really is nuts. I thought this was enjoyable for what it is, but Jason Statham's presence was the only thing that kept it from feeling like a straight-to-video release. Makes me sad that it did better than Solo, which I thought ran circles around it. Then again, I saw The Meg at the cinema and missed Solo...

Picked it up from Mario earlier. My ebay sales are ticking over nicely this month, mainly because of the 3D discs I've dumped on there, so I've been able to treat myself accordingly.
