I don't know Vincent made a compelling video with data to back it up. Now everybody's mad because the influencers hyped up the S95B too much. I do feel some youtubers jump the gun and was saying this is the best TV ever without even seeing the Sony A95K.

Well, how do you supposed to take advantage of the wide color gamut that Dolby Vision and HDR are supposed to offer with a display with limited brightness? Isn't that the reason display manufacturers are trying to produce displays with higher and higher peak brightness, which is mainly to maximize HDR formats?

I once heard it explained that the brighter the display the more colors it's capable of displaying.

Glad to see him bringing attention to what Samsung is doing.

Even though I disagree with him on the issue of the reference standard, I like Quantum and think he's a very articulate and smart guy.

Because the display techs and specs are still evolving.

Colour volume. Most TVs especially WOLEDs dilute colours on higher brightness. Even some LCD TVs with higher peak brightness does colours poorly at higher brightness.

With QD-OLED, the coverage looks to be close to 90% and again each colours will be shown in full glory only up to a certain nits which I am sure is well under 1000 nits for most colours due to panel limitations.

Maybe Dolby can mass produce Pulsar for home use.

With that being the case, should the consumer be well advised to wait until display technologies plateau a bit before making a significant purchase in a display? Comparatively, that plateau has already been obtained in the audio world.

Are you saying WOLEDs' higher peak brightness, in comparison to previous generation displays, is the reason for diluted colors?

So many wannabes chasing clout based on Vincent’s knowledge and well-earned respect amongst the AV community. Get this garbage out of here.

The most hilarious part of those videos was the following statement: "out of the box, the S95B is more accurate than the LG G2."

Anyone who truly cares about accuracy will have their TV calibrated, and even after calibration, the S95B still over brightens the image. That's Vincent's entire point.

Well, Vincent actually hasn't fully calibrated the Samsung S95B yet. He's only taken what he has seen out of the box in Filmmaker Mode. It sounds like though he will be calibrating it soon so we will see if the issue still happens after calibration.

Lack of accuracy after calibration has been an issue for Samsung for many years, as he has outlined in his video reviews. I'd expect that to be the case with the S95B as well, given that the TV exhibits the same issues as previous Samsung models out of the box.

Out of all of the YouTubers, Vincent has some of the best knowledge when it comes to TVs and other Home Theater equipment. I'm not saying he is "King of AV stuff" but his information is really good. Other youtubers try their best, but seem to fall a bit short on some of the information. Not saying that their information is terrible. Vincent just has a great system down. Plus, he has the experience behind him.

Quantum on the other hand is way out there in left field when it comes to true information on TVs. I mean come on, forcing a Rec 709 source to Rec 2020 is just ludicrous!! I'm not sure how he even has a lot of followers.

The only thing I have ever disagreed with Vincent on is LG's Dynamic Tone Mapping. Everyone by now knows my reasoning behind why I disagree. However, I do agree with Vincent on what he said in this latest video about the Samsung S95B. LG needs to improve their DTM alogorith and then send out a firmware update for all the LG TVs. I have heard the new C2/G2 has improved DTM on them, but still seems to be a bit inaccurate.

True, but I will wait for the full calibrated review. I mean Samsung could have corrected some issues with the new QD-OLED Technology. But we will just have to see.
